Contacting my reps other than John Kasich, was a wast of time. One of the reps I have (to my shame) is the Leader of the House.
Here is his reply.
Dear James:
Thank you for contacting me. I appreciate hearing from you.
The horror that took place in Newtown, Connecticut on December 14, 2012 seems unbearable, but we will lock arms and unite as citizens, for that is how Americans rise above unspeakable evil. Let us all come together in God's grace to pray for the families of the victims, that they may find some comfort and peace amid such suffering. Let us give thanks for all those who helped get people to safety, and take heart from their example.
House Republicans join President Obama and all Americans in mourning the victims of this awful tragedy. The president formed a task force headed by Vice President Biden. On January 16, 2013, the president announced his plan based on the task force's recommendations. House committees of jurisdiction will review these recommendations. And if the Senate passes a bill, we will also take a look at that. Right now our focus is, and should be, on the victims, their families, and their community.
Thank you again for contacting me with your thoughts. Please don't hesitate to inform me of your concerns in the future. To sign up for email updates, I invite you to visit my website at

Sincerely,
John A. Boehner
Member of Congress
He normally sticks his finger in the wind to see which way it is blowing is blowing. So I figure we have some real problems heading our way.
