We are cutting our own throats, its like when gun hunters complain about bow hunters getting an unfairly longer season, learn to shoot a bow, and not ruin things for others. All this gouging is ruining our hobby, and who is doing it, other gun owners........it's stupid

I was living in Wichita Falls, TX when  tornados literally demolished the south half of the city--20K people without homes. All four main electrical power lines and all phone lines were cut.  No water , electricity or phone service.
Gas stations couldn't pump gas,  except for ONE guy who had a generator for his gas pumps .  He doubled ++ the price of gas for the week or two with no power.  He made some money.  He was also put out of business by "ZERO" customers as soon as power was restored to the city.  All TV and radio stations broadcast what he was charging during the outage.

We're sort of like those radio and TV stations.  We need to track the scalpers during these guns and ammo shortages and pass the word.

I believe the NRA has lists of all the politicians that voted "yes" for the gun-ban-laws.

He did start them at $115

Considering I see 'em at $40 a pop all the time now ... $40 * 2 = $80 + $10 shipping = $90 is going rate.

The owner took it upon himself to invest in a generator and wiring which likely set him back three to five thousand dollars (a 240v system + the amps to run those lift pumps etc), he also spent $$$ in fuel to run it (that size is going to burn a good 2gal/hr +). As a result of his out of pocket cost he was able to provide something to his neighbors and community that no one else in the area was able to, and would have cost a consumer time and $ to drive whatever distance needed to find it. Even in good times many stations break even or earn just a few cents profit per gallon sold, some lose money when credit card fees are paid.

Why is it a good thing that he was penalized?

If you can't tell the difference between making a profit and gouging people for money in a situation where they are a captive market then it's pointless to discuss it with you.

Mr Bike,  evidently you've never been in "captive market" situation before that concerned not having food, water, electricity, 25% without housing and literally keeping your family alive.  I suspect the self-righteous tone you adopt would change in a similar situation.  There were a few others selling bottled water, batteries and some other absolute necessities at large mark-ups that thought the same way you appear to find justified.  Most of them eventually found other businesses or places to live.

You have every right to think the way you do.  I have every right to not respect it.

There is no way I  could pay that for two magazines just because they carry 16 rounds.  If someone wants to buy it for that, its is their choice. If someone wants to sell it for that it is their choice as well. For that money I could live to learn to live with several 10 rd magazines....
If I could just hurry and get that industrial 3d printer I had wanted for christmas.....
