Could you guys post some pics of your wood grips?
« on: March 08, 2013, 12:24:44 PM »
I really like the cocobolo... like most people... but I kind of wanted to see some others as well.

I'm not a big fan of the more obscure looking grips. I like the wood grips best. I REALLY want a pair of Nills, but I can't foot $125 on grips right now.

What are some advantages/disadvantages to the wood? I've heard the "grippyness" isn't always as good, but they don't catch as bad on clothing. What are some others?

Thanks guys.

Mine are a bit more obscure, but I wanted something a bit flashier for the brushed stainless LE.  These are made by Hakan, and the wood burl really catches the light.  Pictures really don't do them justice, especially with my limited equipment and photography skills.

As for function, they work well on my LE for my intended purposes.  They aren't as grippy as some grips, nor are they as thin as others, but they are great to look at and that's what I was going for.  You could definitely go with more texture than I did on the wood grips, but personally I wanted to see more of the grain on this gun.

Ahhh the Nills are so sexy. How do they feel in the hand compared to the stock rubber grips and other wood grips?

My half check cocobolos... I love the look of these, and they are relatively inexpensive.

How is the "grippyness" on each of your pistols? Do you find them a little too slick at times? Any changes in ergonomics compared to the stock rubber grips?

It depends on the gun size and it depends on the grip. The "gripyness" if I understand the technical term correctly  is just fine on all the grip I have ever had. As you can see I have a few. They aren't tacky, but they arent slippery. The ergonomics is different on each grip. Some people are sensative enough to feel the slightes variation. I don't like skinny grips at all.
