Zero wear on my rods that I can see. From talking to others, never came accross one that would brake. Probably will replace at 10000 just because I have many spare ones from a kit.

The value of a stainless steel guide rod?  About $25 last I looked.

The biggest drawback of the polymer guide rod is it that it looks cheesy, especially on a supposedly all-steel pistol..

Whether the polymer guide rod is prone to breakage or not, an extra $3 on your next order to CZ-USA gets you a cheap spare to toss in your range bag.

Why anyone would care about the looks if a polymer guide rod is beyond me. It's an internal part that you don't see when firing your gun.

I see this with Motorcycles often. It is not the performance of the part, it is the idea that is is a fragile and inferior part.  For some it will be the fact that a polymer rod just looks ...well...cheap. A polished stainless has a Quality look about it.

Two camps, both are good.

The way I see it, if it doesn't hurt anything, why not?
It's only $25 bucks.
If it makes you feel better, it's worth it.
If the slight amount of weight added under the muzzle helps you out (or even if you only think it does), it's worth it.

I have a stainless rod in both my Shadow and P-01.
Why?
Why not?
CZ P-10 C, S, F
CZ 75 P-01
CZ 75 Shadow Duo-Tone

Hiya, I agree with posters that the plastic works fine, and using SS dosent void your warranty and I've never noticed any odd wear on it or the weapon. Simply prefer steel over plastic. Cz custom did remove a small burr that was causing me to have a difficult time getting it in and out the slide. My Tanfoglio (EAA Witness) came with a SS guide rod, its a cz clone and runs 300 dollars new. If CZ put SS rods in all new guns I doubt many of us would opt to accessorize with the plastic ones instead. Consider how many CZ owners run the DPM recoil reducers, instead of either CZ product, and the value of that SS rod. Be well
