New (to me) CZ75 resurrection pics!
« on: March 30, 2013, 06:44:48 PM »
Early this month, I picked up a Czech police trade-in in rough shape with the intention of getting it refinished.  Here are some pics.

A group pic with some friends' pieces.

After a detail strip and some Jasco, it looked like this.

I tried my luck with an aerosol finish...

But didn't like how corners chipped with just normal handling. A local guy does cerakote for a good price so after a detail strip, some coin, and 4 hours later, we have the final product!

The frame's color has a nice flop where it sometimes looks bronze, grey, or green depending on the light and background.  I love my CZ and can't wait until ammo is cheaper so I can shoot it more!  How'd I do CZFers?

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

The frame is a mix of two colors.  A 3:1 mix of Burnt Bronze and Sniper Grey.  Should we call it Sniper Bronze or Burnt Grey or Burnt Sniper?

I've got a soft spot in my heart for guns that show honest wear (your "before" pic shows a fine working gun that's probably been operated so much, it's slicker than greased owl snot).

However, the end result of your paint quest shows a fine job was done  :)

Nice looking result, love to see the well used gain a second life with someone who cares  :D

"Bronze Sniper" has my vote.
(Burnt Sniper can't be a good thing...)

I think you did a great job.  The honest wear was also a really good look but I think you knocked it out with the refinish.
