Can anyone offer a review or personal experience with the Grand Power P1 Mk7 compact 9mm?

I plan on shooting the Grand Power (full size or compact) in a couple weeks at a pistol range in Prague. Was not familiar with this pistol until I stopped in at the range to get some information and there was a poster of it on a wall.

I believe STI in Texas was importing these as their polymer offering under the model ID of GP6. I did not see it on thier website the last time I was there though.

I have been considering my next item. I was leaning big time toward a Canik (TriStar) C-100. I was also considering the polymer SARs and Witness from EAA. As the story so often goes, then I saw an aritcle about this pistol.

I am intrigued by the CZ-like layout, with a Berretta-like rotating barrel.

I'd love to hear if anyone has range time with one of these Slovakian pistols from the K100 series.

Try "Steyr-like".  Beretta didn't come up with anything new . . .

Both the Beretta & K100 are following in the footsteps of the Roth-Steyr 1907 & Steyr-Hawn 1912 pistols.

Also, aside from the fact that the barrels rotate, the designs of the K100 & Beretta are quite a bit different.

I'll put some comparative pix up later, if anyone's interested.

I own the full size model -very accurate fully ambi pistol. I would expect  the compact to be just as nice. Very short trigger rest and ergonomically sound.

interesting. CAI imports them but who is the manufacturer? Are they all steel? if so cast or forged?  I didnt know that they had a rotating barrel. That is what led me to Beretta Px4s and Cougars. It works well on reducing recoil but its always on a lighter polymer or aluminum frame pistol.

Mine has a ploy frame, you can't go wrong on the price either its just a plain old good value.

I have the full size, my dad has the compact. We both love the ergonomics and the short trigger reset. Will eat just about anything you feed it. They just exude an air of quality construction. Very great value for what you get, and they can take modded CZ 75 mags/

Put 25 rounds through the full frame K-100 this week at a Prague range. Fits very nicely in the hand, low felt recoil (low bore axis), smooth DA trigger (I'm sure this specimen has been fired a lot so that may have contributed to this feature), and short reset trigger in SA that was just a pleasure to use.

The range instructor (required by Czech law to be present at your booth if one does not have a Czech firearms license) said it was a very good shooting, accurate pistol but it was very susceptible to fouling stoppages even after as few as 100-150 rounds with the rotating barrel. Again, that was one man's opinion and I am not sure how many specimens of the pistol he has worked with to form that opinion. Also, this is a Slovakian pistol and this was on a Czech range with potential for some national bias? ;-) Just saying, to be fair to the pistol.

I remember seeing that reliability test video and another. It is a fantastic shooting pistol with a very good stock trigger. If I get the chance, I'll go back to try the compact version....a nice list to choose from, plus the Scorpion EVO 3 S1, and it just adds up $ or K?
