Extractor problem
« on: May 12, 2013, 02:20:57 PM »
I have a CZ 527 in the 223 varminter. I have no more that 75 rounds down the tube. Today while at the range I pullrd the bolt back to extract the shell and noticed ot stuck in the barrel, the bolt stuck about half way out. Noticed the extractor come loose from the bolt, after some fanageling I got the extractor out and was able to remove the bolt. Re-attached the extractor to the bolt and tried again only to have it come loose of the bolt.
Any other problems like this out there???? if so what is the fix??? new extractor??? new bolt??? off the gunsmith or off to CZ.
thanks for any info given

Talk to CZ-USA first. Best if it can be dealt with under warranty. I have never seen that problem.
A good shot at close range beats a 'hit' at a longer range.

Sounds like it's busted - there's usually a section of the extractor that runs in a circular groove at the bolt head, and this is what holds it in place and is where the bolt pulls on the extractor during extraction. It would be an unusual thing to happen - I haven't seen this either.
