Just recently picked up my first CZ after much research from reading on forums, (a 97BD with rubber grips). Had to have it shipped from NY to our FFL here in Connecticut. My first impressions of the gun is that it is nothing less than amazing as far as accuracy is concerned. Only have a fewe hundred rounds through it at this point, but everyone whom has fired it has been totally impressed. They actually fired better groups with my 97 than their own weapons. All Glock guys really.
Have had a couple of miror issues so far though and was wondering if anyone may have experienced any of these and if they are just something that may go away with more break in? Had several ftf's first time out with some 230 fmj rounds, and numerous ftf's with some federal 230 gr hydra shocks. I was under the impression that the feeding problems were a resolved issue at this point, is it possible it may resolve with some more rounds through it? My biggest concern though is that when loading a new magazine with the slide locked, if I push it in too hard the slide releases on it's own and chambers the first round of the new magazine (happens with both mags), anyone experience this? Seems a little unsafe.
The gun also lacks in the machining and finish areas also, has about a 1/4" round blemish in the finish just behind the trigger and alot of shap edges with burrs that like to pull fibers off the cleaning patches which makes cleaning a minor pain(is this common with CZ's)?
Absolutely love how the gun feels and shoots. But am concerned if these are common issues with CZ's, as i was already eyeing a couple of their other handguns.
Thanks for any input you folks may have, especially about the feeding and slide releasing on it's own.
Think I may have taken a bite from the CZ bug.
