SWEET
1300 FPS should do the job
Enjoy that
Looks to be very fun

Here's my Critter Dispatcher
Got a Utah Pot Gut from 40 yrds last weekend
With it's Nitro Piston, is only rated at 1200fps, but it was $100.00 less too

Just curious how much quieter the latest Air rifles are (especially with names like silent stalker) than my old school RWS 52? Are there any sound tests out there on Air guns? That was one of my big surprises many years ago when I got the 52 she is firing fast enough to almost rival a .22lr with its noise.

Not that I am looking to lower the FPS or put a silencer on it but I would consider adding a newer one to the stable if there was a big difference. You know any reason to buy another is all I need.

Hi- end air rifles are an unknown field for me. What do these puppies run? What is the effective range? Im guessing 50 yards or so?

What are the propelling? The standard .177 cal slugs?

I ordered the 22 version. $239 on Amazon, FWIW they say I saved $130. In 22 I'm hoping to keep the noise to a minimum by staying sub-sonic. With a 22, even with lower velocity you still get enough power to knock down small game at 40-50 yards. 177 caliber are much louder because they nearly all go supersonic. if you step it down to stay quiet, there often isn't enough grunt left to do the job effectively at anything other than close range.

Here's a go place to start:

That Nitro Venom of mine shoots Dime Sized Groups of at 30yrds
Took a fair sized Uintah Ground Squirrel at 40yrds and is quieter than my Umarex Pellet Pistol

I agree with needing the bullet weight/PF so the bullet will carry accurately over longer distances,;   BUT for in-the-city neighborhood type shooting,  .22 is a lot more risky than .177.
My little Daisy pump-up only gets about 650 fps with a std. pellet, but the penetration is surprising.   Granted my shooting distance is usually inside 20 yds MAX, but as an example:  I hang brass 9mm cases in a shooting box with 5" of nylon cord.  Hit squarely at 30 feet, the pellet  penetrates/holes the one side and bulges the back side of the case---surprised me.  I've had through & through holes in squirrels

Watch where you shoot.

I got to shoot a Benjamin Marauder in .22 the other day, at 900 fps you don't even here the gun fire!! Guys on YouTube are whacking critters out to 130 yards with this beast!! I want one in the worst way, but at $500+ optics+ charging method ( scuba tank or high pressure hand pump) right now I'll stick to my Crosman break action with lead pellets (no super sonic crack) for those grey tree rats!
I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I know how to use every one of them !!

I'm using a vintage 1973 Benjamin Sheridan Blue Streak in .20 cal.  It might be good for 750 fps on a good day.  What I do like about it is I can control the velocity by the number of pumps.  Sometimes I just want to sting their ass, which is most of the time.
I have been looking at something like what Mr. Widgets purchased for quite awhile.  Problem is at the moment I'm drawn to things that use primers and powders.

Well??? Did it come in yet??? I'm excited too! Nothing like a new toy!!!!

Arrived Wednesday, along with 500 Crosman HP pellets. I decided not to use the provided scope rail since most reviewers stated it was a waste of time, so mounted the scope directly on to the receiver. Took it out to the gravel pit to sight it in. Took me about 30 rounds to get it on to the paper at 50 yards, windage wasn't so bad, but the elevation was way off. It wasn't as quiet as I was expecting, marginally less 'crack' than a 22 rifle, but still fairly audible although not so much that you'd need hearing protection.

Only real con I've found so far is that the scope tends to tip or twist in the rings after 8-10 rounds so the crosshairs aren't vertical and horizontal. I'm loath to crank on the rings too much in case I deform the scope tube, so I'm considering wrapping some electrical tape around it to give the rings something to bed into. A minor gripe is the thumbhole in the stock is a little too small, but I think a few minutes with the trusty Dremel will fix that in short order.

Overall I'm pretty pleased,  I shot it again on Thursday and the scope had held the zero without shifting at all.

Even at 50 yards it went straight through 3/8 plywood so I'm confident that varmints will feel my wrath!

It should quiet up some the more you shoot it
Make sure to run a patch thru it after 50 shots
It will help quiet it up too

Besides lapping the Rings, the tape might work

I always hear bad things about scopes that come with pellet rifles, glad to hear you're happy with it, try a heavier pellet to hush that beast!
