Ended up with 2 RAMI's
« on: August 18, 2013, 10:24:18 PM »
Traded a Glock 19 for RAMI P, and like it so much I traded my P-07 for a RAMI alloy.

The RAMI P seems to have a few problems, in that the mags don't want to seat without quite a bit of force, and it has the right side frame bulge. I also don't really care for the adjustable sights, as they snag quite easily. May try to get CZ to replace it for an alloy model.

The RAMI alloy, that was a helluva deal for me. Like new, 3 sets of grips ( the Zebrawood looks fantastic ), box, paperwork, etc....I like it better than the Polymer version.

The P-07 was a great gun, but I like to go as small as possible without sacrificing anything at all, and the RAMI is the answer. Just as accurate, easier to conceal/carry, etc..

Frame bulge is a known issue with the RAMI P. Contact CZ-USA and see if they will replace it. I have a feeling they will since it is a well known issue causing the RAMI P to be discontinued.

I wouldn't really mind the frame bulge, but the mag won't hardly seat at all, which is not good. Besides, normal American greed dictates that a new RAMI in alloy is better than a used RAMI, period.

I would also like to have it replaced with some fixed sights...what in the world would adjustable sights be doing on this gun ?

I wouldn't really mind the frame bulge...

You do realize that frame bulge is a sign of weakness in the frame itself. Eventually the bulge will lead to a break in the frame and catastrophic failure. In other words, your RAMI P is an exploding time bomb waiting to go off.

Excellent trade for that alloy Rami.  I had a P07 Duty for a while and of the 4 CZ's I've had (alloy Rami, PCR D, Compact 75 in nickel and the P07) I was least impressed with it.  SUPER light trigger on follow up shots.  Almost dangerously light.  I had a few unintentional double taps with it and it came in last in the "feel" category, too.  You are going to LOVE that Rami....it's extremely accurate in SA mode.  I've still got to work on consistency in DA.
PTC, but Pine Mtn will always be home.

Yes, I love both the Polymer and alloy RAMI's.

I wrote to CZ and they have sent me a Fed-Ex shipping label to send the Polymer RAMI in to them. I suppose they will probably replace it with an alloy frame model, but either way is okay with me.

I also have a 2011 Rami P 9mm, only 50rds thru so far without issues
Is there an average rds thru before it shows bulging?

I have no idea how many rounds were shot through the RAMI P I have, but as far as frame bulge goes, I don't really worry about it.

Mine had some other problems as well, which is why I contacted them. The mag release was very sticky and mags were very hard to seat. That's why I'm sending mine in. I like the Polymer version just as much as the alloy.

On the other hand, I really don't like the adjustable sights, especially for carry. They snag way too easily.

My Rami has set sights which l like. My new Rami 40 alloy has movable sights, don't know
If I like them yet, still putting rds thru to see how it functions.
Very "happy happy happy" thus far. Great gun!  :)
Soon to replace my G27 for cc.
