Opinion of the 2075 Rami P
« on: August 20, 2013, 10:03:12 PM »
Hi all,

I am looking into getting a 2075 Rami soon, and I am leaning towards the alloy framed version. Since CZs are difficult to come by at any gun stores here in Boise, if I came across a Rami P, I would consider purchasing it.

What are your opinions of the polymer framed Rami? Are they of good quality? Any known problems I should be aware of? Thanks.

I had the same question at one point. I researched it heavily and concluded that I needed to wait fo or a non polymer version. I think the fact that CZ has discontinued the polymer version says it all. I held out for a BD version. If you watch Armslist and Gunbroker, you'll find one. I bought a BD version a few months ago for $625 plus shipping on Armslist. I couldn't be happier with it. It just feels right. Skip the polymer.

Don't buy it unless you just want it for a safe queen and never shoot it. Polymer RAMI's are notorious for frame bulge. CZ-USA had to replace all RAMI P's with frame bulge with metal RAMI's which eventually lead to CZUB discontinuing the RAMI P.

If you buy a RAMI P and it starts to show signs of frame bulge, CZ-USA would probably replace it with a metal version since this is a well known problem. But why take the chance? Your best bet is to just wait until you find a metal RAMI.

Can't say enough good things about my alloy rami chambered in .40. Great route to go.

On the other hand, it is still a CZ Rami and the frame bulge is purely cosmetic if/when it happens. From what I understand,  there has ever been a report of failure due to the frame buldge. Haven't seen a Rami-P in awhile but they were always cheaper than an alloy RAMI. Worse case scenario, CZ's sends you a new pistol to break in.

That's probably because the owners were smart enough to stop shooting them when the bulge appeared. And CZ-USA was smart enough to replace the poly ones with steel ones when owners complained. Frame bulge = frame weakness. It's a time bomb waiting to go off.

I have an alloy safety model and I love it.  I would strongly recommend you wait to find an alloy model, especially if you are leaning towards a .40.

Well, one of CZ-USA's gunsmiths told me that it was nothing to worry about. Hundreds of others have been told the same and some people have had warranty work denied because the frame buldge was nothing to worry about (I'm sure those ones were in the early stages of bulging) Nonetheless I still pursued my upgrade from P07 .40 to the P06. my P07 had a list of issues from the bulging, sticky mags, misshaped feed ramp and slide stop as well as an off-center hammer that would drag on the frame creating a 20+ # trigger pull...  I paid a small amount of cash for the P06 upgrade instead of trying another polymer.

Oh wait... we are talking about the Rami-P''s here....

I can't speak to the polymer frame Rami's but the alloy frame guns are awesome. They are amazingly accurate
and the recoil is very minimal.

Agree.  The alloy frame RAMI is very accurate and very high quality.  I have both the P0-1 and P-06, and the RAMI is just as good as either, but much smaller and easier to conceal.  I can carry my RAMI in my front jeans pocket (although difficult to extract, but at least I can always have it with me).   The RAMI is approximately the size of the Ruger LCR, but has 10 rounds of 9mm rather than 5 rounds of 357 or 38+P.

Thanks for the replies all. I'll just wait to find an alloy framed Rami then.

I just picked a nib 9mm Rami P in February.  Did enough research to feel comfortable
getting the 9mm, 75rds thru without a hiccup. I wouldn't hesitate getting a 9mm P.
The 40 on the other hand should be alloy (imho)
which I just got  ;D. Love it & couldn't be happier, need to put a few 100rds thru
before it replaces my G27 for cc.
