CZC Rear Sight Pusher
« on: September 26, 2013, 01:20:00 AM »
Anyone have experience with this?

http://czcustom.com/czrearsightpusher.aspx

Is this better than a brass punch?  I'm curious if this would be more precise than a brass punch when making adjustments.

I'm sure it is way more accurate. Mainly because the mechanical advantage of threads over the guessed smack with a hammer. If i could justify 100 bucks for one I would get one. But I have been thinking of making one...

Right now I'm deciding on whether I should finish my first project or just add another to the queue.

Buying this would allow me to finish a project or two, but prevent me from adding some nice pistols.  Decisions decisions...

Bishop,  I did the same.  Crude but works on my CZs and my Sig.  Had to buy the fine thread bolts, but otherwise was free.
Welded a steel frame. The vice jaws are aluminum with some leather inserts.  Drilled and tapped with fine thread bolts.  The pusher is adjustable was turned smooth in a drill press.   A brass cap fits over the tip.  I've only needed it once.  ::)   Oh yeah, its reversible.

It flexes just the tiniest bit, so I always meant to add a "bridge" over the top, but haven't needed it again.  I used it for installing and sighting in a Comp. rear at the range on a 75B.  I also did another shooters sight at the range.

I absolutely can't stand having to 'add' windage or elevation guesses to my sight picture.  I want POA=POI.
I got the HAJO height adj. rear on my Shadow and it came dead on for windage, so hopefully I won't need my rube goldberg  again.

Sow, do you have a pic of your adjuster from the other side?  What diameter bolts did you use?

Sorry its taken so long to put some pictures up ... and sorry the quality of the pics isnt that good... i think next time i will drag out my wifes camera. This is sight pusher mk1.... I can already think of a few more things I want to change (which is why i left lots of meat on the side to make adjustments). But here it is.

Nice work! EXCELLENT!

Milled bottom?  TIG or MIG welded bridge?   How did you make the pusher tip?  Looks solid as a rock.
You'll be able to set the sights perfectly at the range now. 8)

Does that screw have a swivel head like a C clamp? Where did you get that from?

Also looks like aluminum tray and the rest is steel. I think I may try building and thread both sides for left and right adjustment. You could fit a dial indicator through the hole on the opposite side for fine tuning windage.

yes I milled the bottom from some aluminum stock I had laying around and the Tig welded the bridge out of stainless steel scrap. The pusher I got from mcmaster carr item #92432A456. The pusher is exactly like a c-clamp tip and seems to work great without marring the surface. I have used them for making jigs before so I knew just what to look for. The 3/8 set screws that hold the slide have nylon tips That I got from another project long ago.
