What are the differences in the 2014 CZ P-07 from the 2013 CZ 75 P-07 Duty that makes the 2014 version a non-75?

I'm going to get the 2014 catalog and compare the 2013 product write ups. It might take me a week or so but I'll post a comparison when I can.

So far it sounds like there is a push to make the P07 less boxy, and more streamline. Kind like the changes Glock has made over the years, subtle refinements.

Seems like the changes I wanted they have made. New trigger rounded nose, and I assume steel sights. Good to see. I beveled the front of my frame with a knife. Aids a lot with bolstering. Nothing I could do with the muzzle, but its an improvement. P07 is a good gun.

I think it's just a simple name change for the P-07.  When CZ first introduced the P-07, they though it might help sales/interest if they gave it the ubiquitous CZ 75 name.  Now they're letting the P-07 stand on its own, just as they've done with the P-09.

The changes to the P-07 are basically just to bring commonality between the P-07 and P-09 lines.  With the new changes, the P-07 is just a compact version of the P-09.  It's like how the Glock 19 is just a compact version of the Glock 17.  Other than the size, the guns are exactly alike.

The P-09 was introduced after the P-07 and it had some small improvements/changes.  Now those changes are making their way to the P-07.

And yes, the sights are metal and they're 3-dot.  They don't use the u-notch rear.

v. 2013

v. 2014

Here's what I see as different:

No "Duty."
Different front sight.
No "75."
Front cocking serrations on slide.
No lanyard ring.
New hammer.
New trigger.
Fronts of frame and slide melted.

Where can I find one?

I think you either have to be the son of the CZ CEO, or set your time machine for at least 1.75 mo in the future.

A rounded trigger guard would make it easier to reholster (and find holsters to fit)

Because one could knock off the bottom front "point" and round it (the trigger guard) over a bit.
All you need is some abrasive and time.

Yeah, the first thing I do when I buy a new gun is bust out the sandpaper.
