Thankful I Reload
« on: November 10, 2013, 03:45:32 PM »
Went over 10,000 rounds Total YTD today.
Started Reloading in March of this year but in January' February and March purchased about 2,000 Round since I did not find any Primers until march! So 8.000 Rounds later I Know I enjoyed every Round but really don't want To Think about how much I have Invested This year.

All That I do Know is that I Saved money but Definitely shot Much more Then if I Purchased Ammo!
I am greatful l Reloadl !

One does not get into reloading as a matter of economics--it's a losing proposition. It's more the opportunity to "roll your own."

I got a little bit of a headstart on you, since I started reloading in 1963, and at last count was somewhere around 800,000 rounds loaded that I can account for.  There's probably been much more than that, since when I first started, I loaded and shot as fast as I could manage to scrape up enough money for components.

I started loading with .30-06, then .38/.357 Magnum, but now I'm loading for .31 different calibers, and still having fun doing it.  I just hope it doesn't become an addiction, since you know what they say about addicts..........

Hope this helps.

The ALWAYS true thread in reloading, that's hard to explain to new reloaders who often think 'less money' will change hands.

While you "DO" save money/rd, way more money usually changes hands. Let's see: Bullets, cases, powder, primers, reloading equipment and accessories, manuals, polishing media, cartridge containers, case containers,  benches, stools/seats, cabinets,  range fees, gasoline, match fees,  HATS, shirts, glasses ,ear protection & batteries, etc etc etc

Oh yes,  now that you can reload and save money, you can get  MORE GUNS and the now needed more of all the above. ;D ;D ;D

I think it's great hobby!

Just think if all the guns, ammo and reloading loading items sold during the last year were removed from the economic figures how bad they would really look.

YEP! It's the only significant boost to the economy coming out of this government.

It's a rewarding and satisfying endeavor!  My son is now getting into it and we're spending more quality time together since he's using my equipment and supplies for now.  Man!  If you really want to learn about reloading, there isn't a much better teacher than teaching somebody else.  I'm thankful I reload, too.

Reloading DOES save $$.
I saved over $8K in past 5 years, compared to factory ammo prices. Not gouged prices either.
But, I also dialed in a load for my gun that works great for the gun and me.

I'm thankful that I reload becasue it connects me to the greatest groups of people on the web. You guys are all champs in my opinion. Everyday I look forward to the comradery, messages, funny comments, and the general good humor found on this forum. And I learn something on every visit.

Here's the proof of your positive and selfless attitude toward novice and expert alike.... In 3 or 4 years of moderating this forum, only one message needed to be erased. A couple of spelling errors, a few HTML errors, but only 1 sour post. Amazing.

You guys are tops. It's an extreme pleasure to associate with each and every one of you.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving season.   ;)
