Are aluminum thin grips worth the $?

I put some on my TS to reduce the grip and I like them a lot.  I'll probably get the checkered aluminum grips for the compact, just to try something different.  If you find you don't like them, I'm sure you could sell them on the Classifieds in this forum for nearly what you paid so you wouldn't be out but $5-10 for trying.

I went with VZ grips, partly because I don't like cold metal touching my skin - especially in the morning :-).    I am still interested to give it a try though...
