I'm grateful to everyone who posts videos. I applaud the work that goes into making them. The P-09 is a nice pistol. I'm going to watch the video even though I have a P-01. Curious about the Omega trigger.

Firing pin removal is pretty easy as well. The roll pin is very tight but once u drive it out. Push on the firing pin block and it comes right out. Like Joe said once u put the firing pin back in push it in slightly before driving in the roll pin.

I just put a CZ P-09 on lay-away, thanks in large part to your videos, and I'd like to ask you what specific parts I need to

Designman--You should call David at CGW to discuss but here is what I think he will say. 

Hammer kit--this includes a new hammer with many changes made to safely minimize the creep that irritated me with the stock parts.  Also includes several other small parts that should all be replaced at the same time.

DA kit--this includes a 13 lb hammer spring, a new firing pin, and a new firing pin spring.  This will greatly reduce the trigger pull weight but won't fix the creep.  It makes the double action pull much less and the new firing pin and firing pin spring will keep the gun reliable with the lighter hammer spring.  This is all I had in my gun until a few weeks ago when CGW released the hammer kit. 

You can install one or the other kit or both.  I have both now and couldn't be happier.  I was pretty happy with just the DA spring and firing pin kit but the creep of the stock hammer made it difficult for me to shoot the gun well after shooting other tuned pistols.  I didn't try the hammer kit with the stock firing pin and hammer spring, so can't comment on just making that change.  My bet is that the double action pull will be pretty stiff but the single action trigger will still be pretty good.  If you were going to shoot the gun single action all the time, this would be a good way to go, I think.

I am swapping the spring on my P07 and can not for the life of me get that pin back in that holds the back strap and everything in place.  The P09 has the nub for the lanyard loop which gives you leverage to push it down far enough.  But on the P07 it is flat and angled and I literally can not push it low enough to slide the pin back into place.  This is driving me crazy

I always put the frame upside down I'm my lap and use the slide stop lever to push the plug down with one hand and push the pin in with the other.

Small punch on upper part of relief if you push on bottom of a flat one it will  bend.  Just hold it upside down like stated above

Hello everyone,

I am new to the forum, and new to CZ's. I have had my P-09 for about a month now, and am very happy with the gun, except for the mushy trigger. After reading numerous posts, and watching Joe's videos, my CGW hammer kit and spring/FP kits are on their way shortly. My one question is: once I have everything disassembled, what, if anything, should I polish to give me an even smoother action? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any advice, and thanks to everyone for this great resource. I will update once I get any work done.

I vote for not polishing anything.  Just put it all together and put some rounds through it.  Mine didn't need anything, although I did do a little polishing of the trigger bar when I had it apart a while after putting in the CGW parts.

Most of what is recommended in the "smoothing the action" thread in the Gunsmithing section applies to the Omega. You just have to figure out the corresponding parts and function in the Omega system. Be very careful you don't remove too much material. The timing of the Omega is more sensitive than the CZ75 mechanism because the lift arm and sear are in "series" instead of "parallel." The CGW parts take it that much more to the edge in order to squeeze extra performance out.

I have put the CGW kit in my OMEGA and it is awesome.     It works flawlessly with my 9mm upper but with my Kadet kit the hammer fails to stay cocked about half the time turning it into DA parttime SA pistol.    The pistol cycles and ejects/chambers rounds OK.  I tried standard and High V ammo.    Any suggestions?   I am thinking either hammer profile different or recoil spring too heavy so slide doesn't quite go far back enough to fully cock hammer.
