4lb. 3oz. DA - SP-01
« on: February 16, 2014, 09:32:32 PM »
Love how so many folks believe only a Shadow can have a great trigger pull.  Here's an SP-01, with the firing pin block intact, with an ice crisp 2lb. 12 oz. SA, and a very functional 4lb. 3 oz. DA.  This pistol has plenty of ignition for setting off Federal primers.

We set this one up with a milled in LPA-TRT fully adjustable rear sight and a full action job.

Nice work Dave. Awesome trigger work.

Now we just need to convince people when they ask for these awesome triggers, they need to feed it good ammo too.

That sir,  is impressive.  My 75 Shadow's DA isn't even real close to that.

Mainspring weight and TRS are pretty key to the DA stroke. Getting that light though, primers and reloading gets to be pretty key too.

I wonder how light a trigger can be while still igniting any and all primers. I pose this scenario for SP-01s and Shadows.

Stuart is correct.  I hope I was clear is this is a Federal Primer only pistol.  Crazy to have a DA as light as the SA on some semi-autos.

Lightest SP-01 and lightest Shadow pull weights that reliably ignite all primers? Sounds like a challenge!  ;D

This is awesome!
Life is too short to waste on a bad trigger pull

That is absolutely incredible.  The lowest we have been able to get with an 11.5# mainspring is still in the high fives on the 75B.  But I am fine with that as it is soooooo smoooooooth.

Would you mind sharing your spring combination?

I have a CZ 75 SP-01 that I am working to improve...  Would like to reduce the DA/SA trigger pull...  I use Federal primers...

I would suspect the 8.5# H.S., maybe sear spring, FP spring,  and reduced weight T.S.  + lots of careful polishing/smoothing.
