Where are the lubrication points?
« on: February 17, 2014, 07:11:55 AM »
Looked for my manual yesterday, couldn't find one. Don't remember if I ever had one. Anyway I have a D-Technik VZ-58 and want to know where to apply oil/grease. Having no manual, I applied white lithium grease to the rails and lug contact points, light oil on the gas piston, light oil on the bolt with exception of firing pin. Ran oily patch through barrel, then a dry patch.

Sounds about right to me. The only wording in the VZ2008 manual is to apply oil to all action parts. Other then that and what you have already done, I would worry about it to much.

Download these:

Not sure whose this is, but CZ USA is hosting so probably theirs, w/ lots of pics and step by step:
https://czusamedia.s3.amazonaws.com/files/vz-58-military-manual.pdf

CZ - USA's manual for VZ 58 auto:
http://stevespages.com/pdf/cz58.pdf

CSA's manual:
http://www.csa.co.cz/files/files/Sa_vz._58_Sporter_instructions_manual.pdf

CSA has about the same info as the Century manual, but the other two have detailed instructions.

For grease, I use Slip 2000 EWG and for lube either Rem Oil or Slip 2000 EWL, depending on the mood.   Typically I use Rem Oil for flush cleaning, bulk spray areas, etc, and EWL for more precise lubrication where I don't want to use a grease.

Oh, and for breaking in, I use Rem oil lightly on rail for first range session and then run better lubes after that.

Thanks guys. I found the CZ manual in another post shortly after I posted my question. Looks like I did okay by copying what I do on other guns.
