« on: February 23, 2014, 12:14:35 PM »
Wondering if anyone has ever had there CZ high gloss hot blued like the Colt python royal blue were it's so glossy it's like a black mirror. Did some looking online and seen this CZ but that's not glossy enough for what I was talking about looking for someone that has something more like this.

Not this

Yeah, I've always loved the Colt / Ruger, HiGloss, Black / Blue
Seems that no one does that any more

Your first picture isn't showing. So I don't know if it's a factory blued 75. But CZ had them in the past. And they look pretty good.

I'd bet if you got a 75 done right. It would look really good like that 1911.

That looks hella good! My 97 and one of my SP-01's looks like that top blued CZ. My Harley is all blacked out and has a few spots with black chrome that looks a little like that. Never personally seen it on a gun before, that'd be hella nice. How would one go about getting something like that done to their firearm?

I've owned two of these over the years, but always let them go to a CZ fan who would probably keep them in museum quality.  I always shot them, and knew that eventually they would not be museum quality for long.  They were original, bright blued, short rail CZ75's, produced around 1977.

there is are companies that sell classics like the 1903 Colt .32 re-blued to that uber shiny blueing on gunbroker.  Lotta bucks. Montelongo is one of them

http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=333237  why you don't see many nitre blued guns

Why use 911 when it's faster to use 1911 or 9mm?

Have no idea what it looks like on a gun, but I noticed Cerakote has a color they call Royal Blue. The color swatch looks good on my screen, but I'd love to see a gun done with it.

I've been playing around with the idea of trying it at home. I have paper up to 5k grit and a fully adjustable speed bench grinder/polisher that I could take it up to 10k/15k grit on, hopefully without rounding things. I wonder how high they go for a good high gloss blue job.

That's a beautiful finish for a display piece. My holsters would start to make it look rather plain after a while.
