CZ 75 died!
« on: March 10, 2014, 11:00:38 AM »
I have a "worked" 75-b. 6 years ago I bought a competition hammer, sear, single action trigger and light trigger spring. The other day it screwed up and wouldn't reset and the right safety fell out! This gun has about 15000 rounds through it and the sweetest trigger you could hope for. Just before all this happened I noticed the sear let off was getting closer and closer to the frame and the trigger almost touching the frame on let off.
Got my baby home and found a few things: The trigger spring was broken, the right safety was broken at the end so the sear spring was not retaining it and the trigger disconnect spring seemed like not being able to hold the disconnect bar up all the way.  I installed new trigger spring, new safety and she still was not releasing the sear all the time...After Tweaking the disconnect  bars spring it was better but not like it was. So I ordered a new disconnect spring..BTW the hardest part to replace in the bleep trigger spring. Yes I know about the slave pin but still a pain.
This gun was my carry piece  but this has me very concerned.  Anyone else had this problem?

Thanks, Bill

Welcome to the forum Bill.
With ALL the things that appear to have broken at the same time,  this leaves a lot of possibilities for the problem area.
First, a CZ 75B doesn't come with dual safeties, so which specific model pistol do you have?
When you say disconnector spring,  do you mean the trigger bar spring?

Reading your post,  I would check the tension on the trigger bar spring screw--the same screw that also holds the mag release spring in place.  This is a staked screw that if overtightened will disstort the trigger bar spring and  intermittently not raise the trigger bar all the way up  and can cause your problem.

Look to see that the trigger bar spring (where it fits under the screw) is centered and both legs are sticking out straight from the screw.  If they arent, Loosen the crew until they do,  then just snug it back until is secure but not distorting one leg of the spring.  Also make sure both ends of the trigger bar spring are riding in the "slots" on the bottom sides of the trigger bar.

There are theads and posts here--and some stickies-- that give step-by-step pics and comments on doing this.

If this doesn't help/fix the problem,  others may chime with other possible areas to look at,.
