Just picked up a Canik 55 Shark and had the trigger worked done on by Bill Springfield.  I also own a CZ P07  Duty and Bill has also done the same trigger work.  I noticed that I liked the trigger better in both modes (DA and SA)on the Canik better than the CZ after the work was done.  The hammer on the Canik while in half cocked was also further back than the CZ.  I shot better with the Canik than the CZ and now it will become my EDC.  Definitely didn't like the grips on the Canik but I got replacement grips on EBAY, there's a lot of CZ compact wooden grips you can get at reasonable price.  The good thing that I like is that I can use CZ 75B magazines with the Canik by replacing the bottom plate.  These also work with my CZ P07 Duty.

Nice!  8)  What Serpa Holster is that, you have with the Canik?  Same as the one for the P-07?

The holster for the Canik is from Israeli Defense that I got from Amazon..it's OWB holster.  I think you can get it for it for $30-$40.  I have a IWB holster made by White Hat Holster that works pretty well.

Must be the one for the Israeli Baby Eagle clones, then.

I'm guessing those are the Thai wooden grips? They look pretty decent for the money, although it looks like they're poly'd, which is such a waste of wood, IMO. If they weren't checkered, I'd say sand them down and oil them. Although you wouldn't think it would be the case, I think oiled grips have better grip and it certainly enhances the woodgrain.

As far as the comparison to the CZ...frankly the Canik pretty much feels as good as an CZ75B, P01, or other very 'standard' CZ model, as far as the trigger is concerned. The P07, OTOH, has undoubtedly the worst stock trigger I've ever felt outside of DAO Keltec or Ruger. Maybe the new ones just need a good cleaning and some break-in, but they sure feel very awkward and gritty out of the box.

Yeah those are Thai grips, a lot better than the standard grips, they're pretty fragile, if your screwdriver slips and you hit the wood, you might scratch/dent it

The P07 Duty OTB wasn't that bad, I just wanted a smoother DA pull.  It broke in pretty nice after 1,500 rounds but it was much better after Bill got through with it.

The P 07 omega trigger system certainly feels different than the traditional CZ trigger even tuned.  I have put CGW's parts in my P 07 and while its very very good I agree with you that I prefer my tuned shadow triggers.  I concede however that I can do a lot more polishing to the omega system and that will no doubt improve it further.
