Picked up my Compact L over lunch today (Friday) - I ordered it from the gang at CZC on Tuesday AND they installed the upgraded sights for, uh, a VERY competitive price!  Fit and finish compared to my old factory P-01 circa 2006 is a step better.  The SA trigger break surprises me every time - there's some kind of magic in there.  Great custom work on a limited availability item - feels like a good investment to me!

Ok, just did some dry fire practice with my new compact L and found the safety will engage with the hammer down.  I'm certain that's not the design, unless that's a feature of the comp/race hammer?  Thoughts?  I was planning to take this out to my local USPSA match tomorrow morning.  I'm debating now just in case this may damage the hammer/sear.

Only 100 rounds down the barrel so far.  I did have a couple resets where the trigger ended up with no pretravel - like it was stuck on the sear.  One fte that was a bear to eject.  I've put the stock recoil spring back in instead of a 14# reduced spring I got from czc a few months ago (had only used it for a couple hundred rounds on my stock P-01).  I'm guessing the recoil spring impacted both the weird reset and the one fte.

Any insight is appreciated.

insight:   Have you talked with the CZCustom shop folks?  They do stand behind their work.  If something is not right, they'll fix it.
The fact the safety "will" engage hammer down is not uncommon with actions customized to have good light breaks and shorter resets.  This doesn't necessarily make it okay to engage the the safety with the hammer down and expect the safety to function normally.
Talk to the CZC folks and get the straight info on all your questions..

Safety should not be engaged with hammer down or in half cocked,  just because it can does not mean it is good for your CZ.

 this is a good explanation.

The safety prevents the the sear from clearing the full cock notch. In DA the hammer is still free to be pushed back by the trigger and then drop as the trigger bar disengages the disconnector. Whether the half cock notch will stop the hammer or not isn't guaranteed and will be a matter of how the tolerances stack up in your gun. Even if it does stop the falling hammer, you can still break something because the sear will be barely catching.

Thanks guys.  It had some trigger reset issue during today's match. Fortunately the RO is a CZ guy too and he agreed the reset wasn't working. I'll call CZC on Monday to get it all worked out.  I've heard they really stand behind their work, so I'm not too concerned.  I did get quite a few 2alphas even with the reset issues - great fun!

I recently purchased a compact L, manual safety, but without the accessory rail. Does anybody know a good IWB holster that would fit my pistol? If there are multiple options, whether for this pistol or for another model that would also fit mine, which would you suggest for appendix carry?

I have a Galco Tuck-N-Go for a Glock (19 I think) that works, although it tucks a little deeper than I'd like. I have a regular 75 Compact so the L with no rail and safety should be about the same fit.

So its having a safety, and not the decocker that makes it a Compact L?

Look at the Barsony brand, I got the leather IWB and it's plenty comfortable.  Good cheaper option if you just want to test it.  Fits my 1911 Officer size too.

Yes, it's a manual safety on a P-01 frame (which is normally a decocker).  Like a compact SP-01 for those that like the light rail but want the manual safety.

I order a hybrid holster from WhiteHat (leather backing with a kydex sheath riveted to the front - like Crossbreed's design but you can interchange the kydex to swap out your carry platform).  I'm looking for the easy on/off but need to spread out the weight a little for my Compact L.  Backorder is 3-4 weeks, so by mid-June I'll let you know how it compares to the much cheaper (ie, Barsony) options out there.
