Bought a SP-01 Tactical
« on: March 16, 2014, 12:33:03 AM »
I sent a message to a buddy of mine who is a FFL01 about the want of a SP-01 in 9mm.  He said he has had one on order for a couple weeks and that they have been difficult to get from his distribution channels but it just so happened that he had one coming in on Wed or Thurs.
I dropped him another line on Wed that I was definitely interested and when it came in, to let me know. Well he replied that it did come in and he was logging it as we spoke.
I headed over after work and took a look...I knew the minute I put it in my hands that it was mine.  I was so enthralled that I was able to get one, I neglected to notice that it was a tactical version.  Since my buddy told me it was just a SP-01, I didn't think to double check it to see if it had a safety or de-cocker...I was just thrilled to get it.

He gave me a great price on it (under $600) and I can't wait to get it out to the range...this and the new to me S&W 19-3 4" I picked up at the same time (costs nearly as much as the SP-01 Tactical!)

I would post pics but you guys all know what they look like...mine isn't any more special!

Good Job, 650 is about the "decent" price to pay for a tactical.

Congrats, tactical a are hard to come by. Schmeky was glad to work on mine as he apparently doesn't see many tacticals.

new tactical owner here as well.   the prices here in CA are outrageous since it's not on the CA DOJ approved roster, but well worth it.  i paid $900 for mine OTD.  ouch...

I picked up a safety SP-01 back in 2011 which happened to be on the roster.  That was about $700 OTD back then.  seems like everyone wants one these days.

all you guys are so lucky.  I am in CA and paid way too much for mine.  Total OTD was $922 for my tactical.  Although, $35 was to pay for a California Handgun Safety Certificate.  Aaaarrrggh!!!
