No idea about the US quantity.

Canada has received a huge number, without a doubt, if their popularity and market price are any indications.
They are very fortunate that although their idiotic RC Mounted Police prohibit AKs, the Vz 858 is unrestricted, allowing owners to take them onto private land etc (no?), not just to a gun club.

I heard that might have changed?  Something I was reading about lately led me to believe they are also banned now?

Going to keep the history of this going... :). I wonder if I have the earliest SN for this thread now... lol.

I have I guess an early first gen? It's marked as a SA vz.58 SPORTER, grey paint receiver/barrel with the black framed composite stock and integrated grip, and single stack configuration. Got it at a gunshow long ago. Stamped D-TECHNIK a.s. CZECH REPUBLIC with importer as CAI GEORGIA VT, and SN is marked 000034 (yes, "34") on sight block and receiver. -viiper

Yours is one of the earliest imports of any VZ to the US. It was imported by Century as a complete rifle and way before they started making the 2008’s from parts kits. As I understand the hierarchy began with Century imports, then Wffenworks, then Czechpoint with CZ USA mixed in for a short time then Czechpoint exclusively. And now VZ58USA is building guns from CSA components.
