CZ size comparison........
« on: January 20, 2014, 12:51:59 AM »
While looking at holster choices for my PCR, I come across comments about how this CZ or that CZ is similar in size and shape to gun "A" or gun gun "B" when choosing holsters.  Some are carrying CZ's in a holster made for a different brand or breed of pistol.

I am not very familiar with brands other than CZ.

So, who can tell me what model CZ pistol compares with what other brand of pistol?

A cross reference chart would be neat to create.

What I find odd is; How the CZ75 mostly resembles the Browning HiPower.....BUT I've always been told that the CZ75 is a better fit in a Beretta 92 Holster  :o
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what's coming after HIM !

My PO1 fits well in a Glock 23/19 Don Hume leather holster, and a Comp-Tac Minotaur.

I've carried some of the regular 75's in holsters made for the Beretta 92 series. Of course some of the more decently (not all) nylon type holsters will fit many guns as long as they're not "molded" to one particular type.

Last year I was looking for a decently made OWB, leather pancake holster that I could carry my 75 Phantom in. I was looking for strong or crossdraw with a thumb break. As you might figure the only ones I could find were custom made holsters that were $120 or whatever. Honestly I think they're not worth the money (for me). I looked up the dimensions for the Phantom and then looked for holsters made for guns with similar dimensions, that I liked at the decent price point that I wanted. The Glock 20 and similar models have similar dimensions. And even if they weren't an exact fit, the leather could stretch just enough to fit.

I ended up picking up a Bianchi 7 Shadow model (advertised for the the Glock 20, 21, S&W M&P). It works great and fits like it was made for the Phantom. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/504585/bianchi-7-shadow-2-holster-right-hand-glock-20-21-s-and-w-m-and-p-leather-tan It fits tight, but not too tight. And it doesn't move around at all. It's a quality holster for a decent price.

I have the CZ Pro-tek 1 and had ordered a custom holster for it.  I also have a glock 23.  The holster for the glock that I have will fit the CZ almost perfectly.  The snap-down strap on the holster is just a little loose, but it still retains the gun well.  As a matter of fact, I bought a Blackhawk leather holster that was made for the glock 23 that you slip down inside your waistband and it has the outside belt clip.  This is not the flimsy inside the pant holster, it is made of the same type leather that regular belt holsters are made of.  Fits my CZ perfectly since there is no snap-down.

I am noticing finally that CZ 75's are beginning to be listed at some holster manufacturers sites.

I had a 75B that fit in Safariland's 568 custom holster that was also made for the Beretta 92 and 1911 Commander models.  I put my 1911 Officer size in it and it was slightly more loose than the 75B.  I only used it for competitions not EDC.

I use a Bianci Beretta 92 holster to hold mine.  Just pull the retention strap around the palm swell instead of over the hammer.
