I would like to change over my CZ 83 to a 9x18 Makarov round...any suggestions where I may get barrel, one, if possible in stainless as my 83 is the nickel version, but I would take a regular one.

Thanks,

John

CZ has them back in stock at http://shop.cz-usa.com/SearchByKeyword?word=cz%2082%20barrel for $100.00.  Numrich shows them as out of stock at http://www.gunpartscorp.com/Manufacturers/CZ-33195/AutoPistols-35899/82Pistol-34934.htm for $40.15.  I'm waiting until either Numrich gets some in (and we'll see if when they do they have them for a lower price than CZ -- I figure CZ must have a dealer discount), or CZ's stock gets low enough I need to worry about them running out again.

Does anyone know if, since that's a 9x18 barrel for the CZ83, does it have traditional rifling or the same as a surplus 82?

Why not just buy a CZ 82? SOG has them for $280 if you have a C&R FFL. I'm sure you can find them on Gunbroker as well.

I've been wondering the same thing -- not that it matters a whole lot since that looks like the only source!
