Sar K2 camo
« on: April 04, 2014, 07:02:00 PM »
A local shop had a distributor exclusive on a Sar K2 9mm Carry size. It's a polymer frame, the slide is done up in a digital camo.  There's one for sale on Gunbroker right now.  I haven't had a chance to get any pics of mine yet.
It's the same gun as a Witness P Carry. The gun does seem tighter though.  I have to slap the mag in to make sure it locks. The slide is really hard to pull, and when it's locked back, the slide release button doesn't release it. I have to pull back on the slide a little to make it work.
Is this just a tight gun?  It's brand new. I may not get to take it out for a week or two.  Should I keep working the slide to loosen it up?  I did clean it up and put a little gun grease on the rails.

Are u sure it's the same as a p carry, it doesn't appear to have the cone barrel lockup of the p carry.

Pardon me if I'm not being precise enough. I just meant that the frame and slide are the same size, side by side they look very similar.  The Sar has a nicer rear sight.
It seems to be loosening up a bit.  I have read alot of good reviews about Sar pistols. I'm sure this one will be a good shooter.

Ok cool, they do look to be the size. When I read your post initially I was about to jump all over a k2p cause I've always wanted a p carry but couldn't get past the price. I still may get the k2p cause of how much I like the k2 45, but I'll have to wait on it, I've bought too many this year already. Lol

Could not find the ad on Gunbroker for one in Digital Camo.  While the Frame is very much a direct copy of the Witness P-Carry, the Slide Assembly is sort of a blend of Tanfoglio and Sig.  No Cone Lockup and a Locking Chamber Block instead of Locking Lugs.

DO NOT keep working the Slide to loosen it up.  Just shoot it.  Also, with the Barrel and Recoil Spring Guide Rod not installed, see if the Slide travels easy in the Frame.  If it does travel easy, then the Barrel Underlug might be rubbing against the Frame Barrel Supports a bit.
