I used to call my 97B "The Bohemian Eagle."  I stopped because I realized that I was scaring people away by making it sound bigger and heavier than it actually is.  That said, the extra heft makes it one sweet shooter.  I actually prefer the 97B to every 1911-pattern pistol I've owned, and God knows I paid more for all of them...

Radom, lol thats funny. The weight does make it a nice shooter for sure, I can range this gun all day long. I grew up on 1911's so I am impartial to them, but however I do realize that they are not the only form of .45. Hence why I got a 97bd. Modeled just like my favorite gun, the 1911. My 1911 has a smaller grip which I like cause I like to "choke" my grips. The 97 makes me use two hands. The 1911 is +1 for grip. I love the actioning of the 97. Its easy on the wrist and hands. I dont feel "worn out" holding this after a few hundred rounds. The weight I love cause when your out of bullets, you can use this to bludgen someone to death and when you find ammo, reload and get back to it. Lol its staying in my family for a loong time. Right next to my 1911. Lol

If you haven't had the chance to try a .45 ACP revolver, I'd have to recommend them also. 

FWIW, I like the 1911-pattern guns very much.  I also sort of grew up with them, since every semi-auto my father has ever owned has been a .45, with the exception of a Radom wz-35.  For many years, the only semi-auto I had ever fired was an Ithaca 1911A1.  I suppose I tried a few magazines here and there in range acquaintances' pistols, but most of those were also 1911s or some sort of .22LR pistol.  Almost everyone shot revolvers exclusively. Very different world back then...

I havent tried a 45 acp revolver. I used to own a s&w model 19-3 nickel. I loved it. Smooth ass trigger. I was running hot loads (15.9gr) out of it leaving flames out that thing. Lol range officers thought it was a .44 mag. I sold it and got a ruger gp100. Loved it too but not as good as the s&w. I want to get a s&w 686 7shot .357mag. I am gonna look for that and a shotty now. There is a company that makes new receivers for mossberg and rem. 870's that will allow them to run saiga 12 20 round drums. I want!!!

Snagged a 97b this week that's had a few hundred rds, thru it.  Can hardly wait to hit the range. 
If i decide to do a trigger polish, i'm hoping the calgun 75 walk thru will work.

Snagged a 97b this week that's had a few hundred rds, thru it.  Can hardly wait to hit the range. 
If i decide to do a trigger polish, i'm hoping the calgun 75 walk thru will work.

My honest advice is to spend the time/money/effort on ammunition, not mods. If you intend to treat the 97B as an SA pistol, the trigger will break-in and smooth-out quite nicely.  That said, .45 ACP ain't cheap these days, so your situation should dictate your decision.

When I was younger and shot at least four times a month, I was sort of opposed to having a pistol re-worked unless I felt that handloading and regular practice had revealed a limitation with the pistol in its stock form.  As I'm getting older, my views have changed some.  Ammunition is more expensive, and I have a lot less time to shoot and handload. 

EDIT: I re-read your post and realized that you are referring to a simple trigger polish, not having the pistol sent to re-work/customize the trigger.  I can recommend the former, but the latter probably isn't necessary!  Calgun and Cajun look too much alike at this hour!

Agree . If I hit the lottery,, this 97 would be getting an ''E'"  but at this point a nickel trigger job is a stretch.

I reload and running 300 to 500 a month is my favorite hobby/sport  ever.
