Tanfoglio Witness match.
« on: April 16, 2014, 02:09:20 PM »
Hi. Got tanfoglio Witness match. However it is in 38 Super and ammo is kind hard to find here, in Chicagoland. I would like to rebarrel it for 9mm AND for 357SIG. I understand that for 9mm I need only barrel and recoil spring. Here is question number 1: CZ Custom shop have two barrels: tactical sport and SP01. Will any of them fit my witness match?

Here is a question number 2. Considering that 357Sig is a necked down 40S&W, I probably will need a 40S&W slide and extractor, is that a correct assumption? (Yes, I know I will need the mags for that caliber as well).

Question Number 3. Is there a single/double action trigger group for witness match? Right now it is Single Action only.

Question number 4. Witness Match lacks ambidex safety. Is there such animal out there so I can put it on?

Thank you

You need to buy your barrel from EAA , you can shop directly online they have the  spring too.

Sounds to me like you should hunt down a witness limited pro in 9mm. That will be ambisafety, DA/SA, better sights and a very nice frame. You have the right idea about 357 sig. Also the cz barrels are not compatible with current large frame witnesses.

Yes!  You can get an Ambi-Safety kit from EAA.  I have one on my older .45 Witness and on my 9mm Armscor MAP1.  Takes about 5 minutes to install.
