I like it all.

A bit more time and money invested than I would personally go for, but the results are quite impressive.

That is one evil assault rifle...I wish it were mine.

One has to ask, is the whole weapon worth more than the sum of it's parts?  LOL

I was a whole lot richer when I was just collecting flashlights...

In this case I would say parting it out might be best, but that doesn't include the TAX Stamp, gunsmith hours or the 40 hours of DREMEL time I put in to that bleep Houge grip fit up  LOL ;D

Aiy yi!

At that point you gotta ask yourself, would of it just been easier to have a grip custom molded to your own hand shape?

Edit: and that got me wandering the interwebs, where I found Rat grips. Do I need them? No. (Well...probably) Do I want to order some and play with it? Yeah. I think anyone who played with Play-Doh? as a kid would get a kick out of Rat grips.

Range doesn't open until Saturday, but I went down there to help the manager do spring cleaning. (burn piles of shot uo wood from targets, pick up live rounds, etc.).  Some of the burn piles had some livey pops.

I brought the SBR and got to shoot it.  Actually it was utilized as a tool to put about 90 holes in 55gal burn barrels for ventilation.   ;D

Many this gun is smooth. Zero barrel rise, absolutely none. Hopefully on Sat. I will get to sight it in.

1st range report:

Iron sights sighted in at 50 and then 100 ( only have 100 to work with )

Used Golden Tiger ammo to sight in then switched to Wolf Military Classic as readjusted slightly as required. I saw one fail to eject with the GT ammo, it was not the last round in the mag, but it could have been the 10 round mag I was utilizing in conjunction with a Lead Sled.

ACOG was sighted in. Had to tighten up the RS Regulate mount a bit so it would hold zero, after that adjustment, it all worked like a champ.  I love ACOGs. The horse shoe rings the pie plate at 100. If the bad guys would just carry pie plates or perhaps T-shirts with pies on them... " eat mor pie"

From the bench could consistently fill the center of a pie plate at 100. Would love to try 200-300 yards, and try sighting in per the manual of arms at 300.  I just would need to borrow one of my shooting companions who has great eye sight.

Set up steel at 50 and 100 painted it bright yellow. Ringing the steel and removing all the paint is fun.

Tried two rounds of 220gr 1000fps without a suppressor and there was not enough gas pressure to cycle the gun and extract the spent case. The suppressor should hopefully help rectify that. Ballistics of these rounds zero at 100yds, so at 50 I had about 6" hold over.

FWIW, it's a 300 yard zero per the manual, but done at 100m: http://cz-usa.com/hammer/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/vz-58-military-manual.pdf

Not much different than the US military 25 yard zero w/ the MaTech backup iron sights for a 300 yard zero w/ the M4 (or 350 yard zero w/ M16).

So, since this thread documented my SBR and 922R compliance build I thought it appropriate to add this link from TTAG regarding engraving services.  Per ATF rules an SBR build receiver must be engraved with the name of the trust or the builders (your registered tax stamp) name.  While I eventually got OOW to engrave my Czech receiver, I originally had trouble finding someone locally.  This TTAG post recommends a service for anyone who needs to engrave:
