Aluminum grip suggestions?
« on: May 29, 2014, 12:01:57 AM »
Hey everyone, I was wondering if there were any aluminum grips that aren't as thin as the OEM ones?  I enjoy my 97, but I find the grips too thin for me.  If there were any that made it as thick as my 1911s or my SP-01 with Hogue aluminum grips, that'd be perfect.  Thanks.

I agree with you that the aluminums are too thin on my 97.  What I have on it now are wood NILS targets with the bottom portion that forms sort of a magwell trimmed off.  I find those perfect.

Ditto on the too-thin nature of the OEM aluminum grips.  I'm still fishing in Classifieds for a set of the original rubber grips w/ palm swell like those found on the 97BD up until 2012 or so, but for now I've installed the CZ-75 Hogue Monogrip w/ finger grooves.  Definitely makes for more of a handful:

Oh well... Guess I'll just have to shoot it with gloves :)

Did you use a hairdryer, a relief cut, and/or were they previously installed on a 97?   They're not easy to get on there.

Brand new CZ-75 Hogue Monogrips straight out of the packaging.  Hot water and a blow dryer.  No relief cuts.  Check out my last post in the thread I started a few weeks back...
