Bent front sight ears
« on: June 29, 2014, 02:41:30 PM »
The open, "bunny" style ears on the front sight on my VZ2008 are bent in a little, to the extent that a sight tool won't fit.  I was thinking that putting the sights into a vise, padding the ears, and then tapping them open slowly with a wide punch and hammer may work.

How soft/strong is the metal of the front sight ears?  I would not want to break one off.

Anyone have any tricks or ideas?

This will work fine. Remeber this is a military rifle and will hold up to a lot of abuse.

1. Grab pliers.

2. Grab ears from FSB and bend as need.

3. Do need work.

4. Bend ears back.  O0
