Gas Piston ?

How can I be sure the piston that came with my VZ 2008 is U.S. Made ? I am unable to find any USA stampings  on it .

I had the same question with mine.  Apparently, Century put two little "C"s on it.  On mine, they're so tiny and faint that they look like they could tool or mold markings.

No century piston is chrome lined.  All Czech made ones are. 

Only US Made Chrome is CNC Warrior...

Probably 922r related question either than question of how fast the piston will corrode down to a rusty nub.

If running corrosive ammo, yes you want a chromed piston. 

I prefer it b/c Chrome is much easier to clean -- carbon sticks much less than it does to non-chromed steel.  Just wipe down and done most of the time with carbon...

On an AK every US made part is marked as such but on the VZ2008 with the exception of the receiver  it's not .JDA70  Ammo that is corrosive is never a problem.

I have yet to pick my rifle up from the FFL, but my friends Century vz2008 has what appears to be a brass/bronze colored gas piston. No sure what that means but i figured id throw it out there haha

I asked this question when I got my vz cause my piston was discolored too but after more than 300 rounds no problems, I did buy one with obiwan and kept it for a spare, u should b ok . good luck

Stainless piston -- first or 2nd gen Century -- turns that color above 500*F.
