Second match shooting Production.
« on: July 20, 2014, 10:17:29 PM »
So this is the second match that I have shot Production, and the second match that I've shot my Accu Shadow.  It was knedrgr's second Production match and his first time shooting his P09.  The results are in, and I won a stage and placed 4th overall ( out of 28 ) in Production.

Here's a video of that stage, I'm the first shooter.

I do have to say the Accu with the 8.5# mainspring (and federal primers) is a fantastic setup.

That does look like fun.

Its our range time, since we're both busy with work and kids.

Here's a few more stages.

A good thing about videos is that I can see what I need to work on.

Thanks!!!

I only get to the range probably once a month, which is the match.

I've been working with the AS so much, I shot horribly with my 2011 in limited.  I might have to get a CZ to run limited now.  LOL

Thanks!!!

Just looked at the overall for the match and placed 20th out of 91, which has been my best so far.

Nice shooting Production is a fun way to run. If you can't have fun doing this then you aren't trying too........or the texas star ids in your stage ;)

;D  The hardest thing about the Texas Star is getting enough exposure to get it figured out,  then no biggy.  just more fun----most of time. ;)

3 of my shooting budies and I pitched in and bought one so we could practice on it.

I used to call it that freakin star......now I call it our freakin star.

You are right it is a matter of exposure. I am no where near as freaked by a star stage any more. now its those drop turners that get me.....it always something

At the last match stage 6 had a star - my third try at the star.

The first star was 2 mags  :o
The second start was 10 shots :P
My third was 6 shots!  :D
Came in 6th in in Production on that stage!  ;D

Last month was my first time shooting the Accu Shadow at a match (probably the 3rd time shooting it) and first time shooting Production.  Guess what the first stage had?  Yep a Star.  Here's a video from the morning when I was shooting Production (AS) in the morning, and Limited minor (2011) in the afternoon.  I shot all A's with the 2011.

danno_man,  I need you to teach me how to be smoother.
Good recovery on the Star.
At 29 seconds you ran dry and did a mag insert,  then had to use your weak hand to release that slide.  A little over 1 second later you could fire again.
If you feed that mag with the heel of your week-hand just 'a wee little' more firmly,  it'll release the slide and be ready to fire sooner.
Production class and single stack mag change planning are closely related.  O0 :D

First time shooting it,  and you'd likely kick my c-class butt.  ::)
