« on: August 08, 2014, 04:39:59 AM »
I would like to put a reduced power trigger return spring from CGW on my canik s-120. Does anyone know if they are compatible?

Thanks: jeff

You should be fine with that swap.

Thanks guys. I think I will hold off for a couple weeks before I put my order in so I have some time to think about if there are any other parts I want to order well I'm at it.

Maybe sending an email to CGW would be a good idea. I'm guessing that it should be fine but the trigger return spring isn't listed under canik/tristar on their site. Its listed under. "Springs and pins". I have already put on the spring kit, solid trigger pin and new hammer pins from CGW and they all worked grate. I would like to get the trigger return spring, solid firing pin retainer pin and the cz85 replacment trigger from them next along with some other parts but I feel like I'm putting a lot of cash into a gun I have not even shot yet so I'm gonna hold off on my next order for a bit and put a few 100 rounds threw her before I replace more parts.

Before engaging in custom modifications, you really should shoot it first, to find out what you really NEED to change, if anything.

jcw007 is right you should just go out and shoot it. The triggers smooth out decent after several thousand rounds through it. We have a stock[as in trigger system] 120 steel that we shoot in IDPA and we do just fine with it as it is. The only mods are fiber optic front sight with a Cz tactical rear sight and CZ rubber grips. Now adding Cajun Gun Works trigger and sear parts in your Caink along with a short reset trigger system gives you an outstanding accurate shooter. I have three Caniks with Cajun Gun Works trigger systems. Accuracy and group size greatly improve with those mods. As you decrease your required trigger pull you decrease your group size a lot due less natural flinching of the muzzle in any given direction. If you just want a decent combat shooter it should accomplish that right out of the box. What you can get with the Cajun upgrades is a pistol that dam near equals a much higher end CZ custom shop gun for a lot less. It is really what your goal is and how much you what to spend to accomplish that goal. Take the Sar 9mm models those triggers are very nice better than the Caniks right out of the box not worth messing around at all to little to gain for one's effort and expense.  Now my P120s with all the Cajun goodies can easily shoot quarter sized groups at 8 yards if you do your part. Did I spend to much in my opinion no because it does what I want easy head shots all day long .
