Results - August Rimfire & Scope Online Match
« on: August 09, 2014, 09:27:38 PM »
Lets start with the Scope first.
15 Shots Total
Front Rest
50 Yards.

There are 13 circle targets. The 2 extra shots are your choice which to attempt.

Here's the catch - you must tell us which point circle will be your bonus circle before you shoot! No penalty if shots are in other circles BUT only one shot counts in those other circles. Your bonus circle is the only circle that counts for multiple shots.  O0

This sounds like fun. When you say "front rest," I assume a bipod is legal? This is the rifle I would be using. Ruger 10/22 with a Nikon P-22 on top, which is 2-7 magnification.

Thank you! It's an HC3R from HCMags. It holds 25 rounds, like the BX-25, but there's also an attached pocket that holds an extra 20 rounds. Once the mag goes empty, you lock the follower down, pull the spine clip off, slide it over the extra 20 rounds, reinsert the spine clip into the back of the magazine, and release the follower. It's a pretty sick deal. There's a slight trick to getting the rounds to stack correctly, but, beyond that, I love it. A bit on the pricey side, but it came with the rifle, which I bought from a friend who was in a tight spot financially. Roughly, there's about a grand tied up in the rifle, and he gave it to me for $450.

Yeah, I know. I told him that I wouldn't ever sell it, except back to him if I ever decide to get rid of it. Doubtful though, I love that rifle.

Rip....A couple questions.  On the scoped target we shoot one shot at each of the 13 seperate circles and then two bonus shots at a circle of our choice selected before hand....correct?  Also should we scale the printing of that same target so the #1 circle is exactly 3.25".....other wise my printer prints it smaller.  Thanks.......
Shooting with my kids and grandkids....that is a fine time.

Good thought on the scaling Rimfire. If you know the scale please let us know.

Too all please scale to 3.25.

And yes to your shots. 13 plus 2

I scaled the scope target to 137% on my HP printer and it was very close to  3.25" on the large circle..

Here are my August targets.   Shot the irons with my CZ UL so I can try to compete against you sharpshooters.   I tried a target with my LH Lux but the CCI Quiet ammo I tried was too in-consistent.....a flier every 10 shots or so.    If we don't have to have all the shots totally inside the black bullseye's to count as a 10 then I am quite happy with this target.

The scope target I shot at my local range yesterday.  My LH CZ American .22 with an old AO Bushnell scope at 9x.  That #12 may not be a score....it is barely on the line.  Maybe just a paper rip?  I would like someone else to look at it....and score it.    I tried about three targets and this is as good as I could do.....never could hit that darn 13 spot.  Called the last two shots to my son on the 10 ring.

Let's see some targets from you guys.  Hoping to get my 22 yr old son to shoot these too.  But he likes his .17 HMR American best.  Are 17's eligible?

Ok, I'm going out to shoot right now. My extra 2 shots will be at #10 and #11 on the scope target. I'll post my results within the next hour or so.

Targets have been printed. (Hey Rip, any reason you used the A4 paper size on the Irons target? Are you one of those Euro commies trying to push the metric system on us? :p)

Range should be dry (enough) tomorrow.
At least I hope it is.
