AAAaaaahhhh. Thanks. Well I hope you feel good about yourself, you just popped my bubble about a CZ 10mm:(

LOL.

That G20 is just going to have to do. That's OK. It and my SP-01 fit VERY snugly into the same holster. The closer on the decision about a trail/camping gun. A 9mm just pisses the bears/mountain lions off...;)

I would think if CZ is going to offer an SP-06 (ambidextrous safety) they would also offer the SP-06 Tactical (decocker).

Angus, what was the capacity of the prototypes you got to try?

The decocker is the offering not the ambi saftey I believe. (see 1st Angus post)

Bruxley,

Angus lists two new prototypes (both decockers) and an SP-06 (basically SP-01) in 40 cal.

I'm taking that to mean the SP-06 is an ambidextrous safety model. Still curious about capacity though.

OK. I don't see an 'SP-06' in the post Angus put up. I see P-06 (basically P-01) and the SP-01 in 40 S&W (decocker). I now assume you are discussing the P-01 variant vs. the SP-01 variant. The tiltle of the thread being SP-06 is prob. what made you see Angus' post incorectly. Often times typos in peoples posts are misinterpreted. I thought you would actually be happy to discover it was a decocker. Is thier a P-01 with the 'tactical' designation? And is thier a P-01 available the has an ambi safty? I thought that it was the SP-01s that had those designations and those options. That is probably why I figured your post was realating to the SP-01 in 40 S&W that is listed in Angus' post as a decocker.

QUITE a bit off thread topic but just my $.02 and my bad for a poor attempt at typo interpretation

OK, I bit and opened this thread up thinking the SP-06 might have actually showed up.

Close but no cigar.

That is the P-01 equivalent in .40S&W renamed as the P-06 that was discussed in the P-01 forum.

It's a bit shorter than the SP-01 or the proposed SP-06 which we are all anticipating.

.40 S&W.......
 40 Short & Weak

9mm with a good +p hollow point is better than .40 s&w. All you gain with the .40 is a little more energy (which means practically nothing anyways) and recoil.
9mm is cheaper, easier to find, easier to shoot, holds more rounds in the magazine, is more universal all over the world and is more accurate than .40 S&W.
I'm not saying .40 S&W is a bad round but the only real advantage it offers over 9mm is that it leaves a bigger entrance wound. The wound channels the best .40 s&w defense ammo makes are not much bigger than the best 9mm.
To me, all you gain with .40 S&W is price, recoil and lowered capacity.
I just thought I stir up some discussion with this post!
