Well, I bit the bullet today and put down a deposit on a SP-01. I saw it at my local store and it was what I wanted, a SP-01 with safety, no de-cocker, night sights and all for only $489. I am waiting for my usual NICS delay to pass. I was originally going down to the store to buy another Springfield GI Champion but when I saw the SP-01 there I changed my mind (they were out of stock on the Springfield anyway). I will probably replace the guide rod with a metal one and have the action changed to a SA trigger and hammer too. Will keep you posted on how it shoots.
