Compacts - What next?
« on: October 06, 2014, 06:04:17 AM »
I've gone a little overboard on the compact CZs.  Yesterday I took my newly Cajunized P01 to the range for it's post-upgrade maiden voyage.  Wow, what a sweet shooter.  I am still a tad more accurate with my two CZ compacts but I really enjoyed shooting the P01.  So, I have two compacts, a P01 and a RAMI.  I also have a fully Cajunized P07 on order from David at CGW.  I expect to receive that in about 2-3 weeks.  Now I am wondering if I should get a P02, or maybe a Canik to tune and enjoy?  I am curious about how a P02, fully upgraded, would compare to the rest.  I quit worrying about what niche to fill as any possible justification, at this point, is moot.  I have more than what I need for any defensive purposes.  Now, I'm just having fun.  So, a P02?  A Canik?  Or maybe I should buy a backup for the RAMI, lol.

How about a PCR or something bigger?  I just picked up a P09 and it is a sweet and VERY accurate shooter.

I have a Phantom so I really have no interest in the P09.  It may be as good, but I can't imagine it being better.  ;D

How about something different? Below in 9mm. You could even fit an accu-shadow upper on a P01 frame.

Thanks, Coolbox.  I have a 75B that I really love.  The Phantom and the B are my only full size guns right now.  I had a SP01 Tactical that I parted with.  I have considered getting an SP01 w/safety since I am not a fan of decockers.  I'm just not sure how much use it would get with the Phantom and B around.

So you mean I can put my TS slide on my Compact L frame??!!  Just for grins, I'd like to try running it like that for Limited division...need some bigger regular 75 mags though.

Yes, but i believe the frame rails need to be reworked a bit.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

Yes, but i believe the frame rails need to be reworked a bit.

That, and either the frame has to be opened up from muzzle end, or the slide narrowed down from recoil spring holding area, as well as a small matter of minor fitting of the barrel peanut. Not as simple with the long slide, but direct replacement with the SP01 or 75B series slides.

@Birds Away, these are still compact frames..not technically full size, well not fully full size atleast. Why not try to make a P07 slide fit a Shadow Line Compact frame. For that matter, a Shadow Line compact is not a bad idea either. Compact with safety and P01 type aluminum railed frame.

Yes, the Shadow Line would be a nice addition.  I saw on a local to me forum a guy had a semi-compact and I have been trying to talk him out of it with no luck.  Not that I need one but you don't see those everyday and I thought it would be cool to add to the little collection.  Oh well, something will come along that really blows my skirt up.  ;D

I sure like my Compacts and have had them for a while.  About a year I picked up a Tristar C100 and like it a lot, the best part (for me) is that  it has a safety rather than a decocker.

I am not a fan of decockers either.  I have the P01 and the Phantom and they are great but I would rather they had safeties.

I am waiting on a reply from Schmeky about what parts for the P02.  I've become quite spoiled and kinda want what I want.  I really hope an 85 trigger can be fitted to the P02.  We'll see, fingers crossed.

There is a Tristar C-100 on Gunbroker right now. I bought the bone they had listed last week at the opening price. I finally gave up on finding a Compact id satin nickle so I went for the chrome C-100. Should be here this week.
