The wood quality on that particular rifle was exceptional. Unfortunately, not all of them are quite as beautiful as that one but they're all very nice.

I had to grab up a 30-06. Been fantasizing about this rifle. Hope I can tame the recoil. Do you guys think a weaver v24 would be overkill on it?
On a hunting rifle, 24X is serious overkill.  The extremely narrow field of view will make it useless for anything except really long shots (500 yd plus) in open country.

A 3-9X or 4-12X would be more than sufficient and much more task appropriate.  If you hunt in really dense, forested country I would even go with a 1-4X or an Aimpoint H30 (zero magnification, parallax free red dot sight).

Wow, gorgeous rifles. If you don't mind my asking, who's your distributor?

Picked up my rifle today sent to my ffl by cygnus. Oh my. It is a beauty. My first shot after scope mounting was almost a bullseye. I also made 4, 5 and 6 round clover leaves at 50 yards with it. Recoil was not an issue and neither was off hand shooting. Pics will follow. Thank you Cygnus!

I wish I had the money for a 550 FS in 6.5.

You seem to be getting some great examples.

Thanks!  The 223's are coming with CZ brand rings which I didn't know until this rifle came in.

I already have a .223.  :P

I bought a surplus Swede and really like the caliber.

Since my .223 is an FS I figure I'd get it a big brother...someday.

I love those spiral-hammered barrels... Reminds me of the way Mannlichers used to be made.

I think that Tikka is a .270.  There's another CZ in that picture!
