I picked up my 527 Ebony Edition in .223 before Christmas but was not allowed to open until my birthday  :(. I've now got it open and boy is it a beauty! Cygnus posted the pictures earlier and the actual article is much nicer. ;D I had been looking for this gun for about 2 years when Cygnus posted his availabilities. I had talked to multiple dealers, CZ-USA at the Great American Outdoor Show, E-mails to CZUB  as well as calling CZ-USA and talking to their Marketing guy all with no success. The general gist of the discussions was that CZ-US does not import these Ebony Edition guns
but occasionally a few make it here if the European guys have some left over. I even tried to arrange a pickup in Europe but the paperwork is very complicated. In any case, many thanks to Cygnus for finding the Ebony Edition guns  and posting.

Does anybody know how many 550's and 527's ebony editions were made? After a lengthy search I'm sure I bought the last one available in Canada.

They're still making them-- they're in CZ-UB's 2015 Catalog. Available in .308, .30-06, and 7x64.

The 7x64 CZ550 Ebony Edition is my DREAM rifle-- I only wish I could figure out who to bribe so that I can get one...

Yeah, I know it's not a popular caliber in the US. I don't care.

I'll start buying parts for a custom rifle if I have to... but it would be a lot easier to simply give CZ my money...

...just sayin'...

Hey guys!  Sorry about not posting recently but I haven't had any CZ relevant news.  I have a line on some more of the 550 ebony editions in 308.  No other calibers are available at this time.  PM me soon if anyone has interest.  I'm ordering a few for my regular inventory but can possibly order as many as 10.

Got 2 in, sold one.  Here are pics of the one I currently have.  Amazing wood on this one with subtle tiger striping all the way up the handguard.
