CZ 100
« on: October 27, 2014, 07:26:47 PM »

I know, I know, we have a sub forum for this pistol that is tucked away, forgotten in the Curio and Relic CZ Section, which is practically dead concerning the CZ it seems most everyone wants to forget about. There has got to be somebody active on this board who still has one of these besides member "ac".

Those who've read my posts know I'm an oddball, as I prefer shooting my CZ's in DA and I like true, self-cocking, revolver-style DAO models of certain pistols; namely ones I owned in the past such as the Beretta 96D and Ruger P95DAO, and now I have a Beretta Cougar 8000D on the way. Possibly later on a PX4 D and Sig P250 may eventually join the collection, which is presently undergoing a major overhaul.

The old CZ 100 looks like a dream come true for me since I doubt I'll ever see a DAO P-01 and/or P-07. Roughly identical in size to the two aforementioned models and a slim profile for CC'ing, with exception of the sharp edges.

Those who speak from experience actually handling, shooting, and owning the 100, please tell the blunt, honest truth. Is the trigger truly as bad as the reports and reviews make/made it out to be? It seems that for every one or two shooters that like them, there are 10 to 15 that just rip the pistol apart, and all because of the trigger.

I'm just having a very difficult time trying to wrap my head around how bad it can be, especially if it is a 10-pound pull as the specs list from the September '98 issue of American Rifleman I was able to track down.

Yes, even they mention that it is a long pull. But when I'm looking at a side angle shot, the trigger looks like it is in the same forward position as any other DA/DAO pistol. More specifically, concerning length from start position to where the trigger would meet it's farthest rearmost position all the way back.

My oddball friend, I would love to see you get one and then come down to South Florida on one of your possible trips so I could shoot it.

I wonder how accurate this photo combination set is? Anyone have both that can confirm if this is realistic?

I can put one next to a P01 if you wish.

I have a .40 and I like it.  It's accurate and fits my hand well.  Shame it never really took off.  I really like the re-strike capability that it has over the Glocks/M&Ps.

Mike, please do! I've got both the P-01 and P-07 myself. If possible, will you please do several shots similar to this?

I owe ya!!!

Mike,  no worries. Those pics came out great...THANK YOU!

When I first saw at the images, I was thinking it looked very bulky. Then I combined a couple of your images with mine, and it looks like it may actually be just slightly slimmer than the P-07, especially the slide area due to it's sharp taper.

If it feels better in hand than either the P-01 or P-07 (which may be an almost impossible task), I think I may have to say, "bleep the torpedoes, full speed ahead!", and take a chance with it.

C'mon CZ, shorten the pull, lower the pull weight a tad, melt all the sharp edges ala P-07/P-09, throw Meprolights on it, and take a second stab at it! I'd be willing to bet if they did that, but especially fixing the trigger pull there would be an ample amount of sales.

But we'll probably never know....

I've never seen one of those . When did they make the 100 ? Does that say PCR on the slide ? Interesting indeed .  ???

It went into production in '95. Then there was the CZ 110 which took away the DAO and made it a traditional DA/SA with a decocker. Think of that one as a CZ style Walther P99 AS, minus the "Anti-Stress" mode. Too bad it was never imported in large quantities (if ever)...

Well, I done went off and did it now. Won a CZ 100 off of GB a little while ago. Now comes the wait to get back home and get it to the range, which won't be until the end of the week at the earliest, next week more realistically...

Better quality pics after I take delivery of it!

Cool looking pistol.
Sorry to be 'dumb',  but what is the device on the slide top between the sights and just behind the ejection port?

From the September, 1998 Dope Bag in the American Rifleman: "The CZ 100 has a unique steel locking stop on the slide behind the breech. It serves to limit the locking block?s upward travel as the tilting barrel moves into its locked position."
