How does my CZ97BD Hit Pattern Data Chart look?
« on: November 01, 2014, 03:29:59 PM »
I have had a CZ75 P-01 and just picked up a CZ97BD, my first handgun in .45ACP. The hit pattern data chart on the P-01 is a nice tight grouping but the on the CZ97 it is, in comparison, pretty dispersed. Is this typical for the 97-series? My dispersion area is 115.9mm with hits typically being high of the point of aim. I have included a JPG scan of my chart. I have not had a chance to take it to the range yet to see how it performs for me.

Thoughts?

CZ Custom told me that the target is purely for function.  They (CZUB) proof test every gun they make and I imagine they don't spend much time aiming when performing the function test.  It would be really interesting to see the test fixture they use to perform the test.

I think I only had 4 shots on my 97BD target?  It has a similar mean point of impact (high).

Cheers,
Toby

my factory target is five spots just above and right of the target all in the circle with mean point of impact in the group high and right about an inch.
my Custom target is two holes just below center half an inch one left and one right about 1/2 inch each hole is an at least double hole.

I would guess that the gun is fine, the test shooter is not.

You have two tight ones in the middle.  I'd take that as a good sign.

In my opinion, those test targets are a waste of paper . . . . .

They showed the gun fired, cycled and fed. = functioned OK. The Shooter Initialed ,  and CZ sent it to the distributor
For an actual pistol accuracy check,  it would have to be shot from a Ransom/Machine Rest.
