Thinking of Getting a P-01
« on: November 01, 2014, 10:54:56 PM »
I've been thinking of getting a P-01 as a defensive gun and back up Production gun.  I'm thinking of a P-01 with a CGW Pro package and night sights.  I suspect that this gun is SSP and Production legal except for the hammer.  Is that the case?

If not, what's the best I can do and keep it in the rules?

I have a P-01 and just put some of CGW's parts in myself and am plenty happy with it.

I think an aftermarket hammer takes you out of some "games".  Where I shoot, no one looks at your gun for "compliance".

I'd say get one and add some parts, do the polishing and see if it will meet your expectations,,,,,,, if it doesn't you can always send it down to David later.

Cajun gun can install a production legal hammer that they say is about as good as their race hammer. I believe it is a special factory part. I have 1 cz with each hammer and I don't think I can tell that it affects the excellent trigger at all.

I say go for it. I use Cajun parts in my P-01 and had them install Mepros on my P-01 as well. I'd shoot the crap out of it first though to figure out what exactly you want done.

Just get it and Cajunize it yourself. I spent this afternoon polishing the inside of mine and it will have double duty. It will still be a carry gun and the host for my Kadet.

Indeed, CWG has several hammer options.
