Added ~$300 worth of parts from CGW
I have no idea what you did to your pistol, but it seems excessive.

A short reset kit, new CGW disconnector, and new CGW hammer will set you back $200 and that covers about 99% of the performance increase.  The other hundred, probably didn't make a whole lot of difference unless that was for polishing/tuning labor.

A new hammer takes it out of SSP Division and IPSC Production but then so would the internal CGW parts as well.  Not usre what USPSA would allow.

It might be worth while to let CZ USA know you are buying a Stock 11 because you can't buy a SP-01 Shadow.

A new aftermarket hammer does.  A new Shadow hammer does not (factory part that comes on another SSP compliant pistol).

and IPSC Production
Not an issue in the US

but then so would the internal CGW parts as well
Again, IPSC legality is not a real concern here

Not usre what USPSA would allow.
USPSA allows the CZC race hammer because it is used in a pistol that's already on the list.  USPSA, like IDPA, does not care about internal modifications except a few safety related ones.

My SP-01 (not tactical, safety model) is more comparable to a $1,300 CZC Shadow, not stock. Springs, trigger, hammer, disonnecter, extended and improved steel firing pin, sights. It is USPSA Production legal and I'm pretty sure IDPA SSP legal as the external part of the hammer is stock. 85C trigger is also legal.

Works in SSP Division for sure.  Sounds you got one sweet gun.

Totally confused? I have a standard (safety model) SP-01. Interested in IDPA. I've heard it is good to go and compete as is, but found this post and not sure if it is or your just discussing tweaks to make it better? Can someone clarify? I'm having the same problem with IDPA. No replies. Thanks!

Yes that is legal for SSP and production. As far as mods go you can slap an 85 combat trigger, sights, grips and a whole slew of CGW parts. I am picking one up as a backup gun and will be going that route in a little while.

So I don't need to modify if I don't want too?

Perfect IDPA gun?  I'd say what I shot in IDPA yesterday, my sp 01 shadow with a little extra TLC, sights to my liking and a short reset disconnector.  I didn't win but that had nothing to do with the gun...

I agree that a modified sp 01 shadow is very close.  I got back from my son our fully buffed (CGW aftermarket bits, shadow hammer, czc sights)  sp 01 and i forgot how good it is.  It have an ever so slightly longer reset than the shadow but I'm sure if I shot it for a while I'd never notice the difference.  It only cost me a triple serial number sig 226R, fair trade if you ask me.

Shoot it as it is.  If later you want to make improvements to it, then go for it.  It is perfectly fine as it sits.

I have been using an SP-01 Shadow for IDPA and USPSA. But I'm going to stop using the Shadow in IDPA and start using my P-01. I carry the P-01 quite a bit and never carry the Shadow.

I will still use the Shadow in USPSA.
SP-01 Shadow
P-01 + 40B slide = 40P

CZ 83

SAR K2 45 X2
and some other "stuff"

If your P-01 is as accurate as my 75-D you won't notice the difference in scores either.  Both are great pistols.  I use my 75 Shadowline from CZ UB in IDPA and it is outstanding with no mods necessary.  Well I changes the mainspring to 13#'s.  Factory has done all the work necessary for the gun to be competitive.  I prefer the lighter frame over the FLDC but that is just a personal thing.  Let us know how you make out with the P-01.  It is a shooter.

Unless you live in a state that requires 10 round magazines, you do not need them for competing in IDPA or USPSA.

If the division that you will shoot in (IDPA SSP, IDPA ESP, USPSA Production) requires 10 rounds in the magazines, they mean just load 10 in the mag.  They don't mean "your mags must be incapable of holding more than 10 rounds".
