Where is the best place to buy Tritium sights for the P-01? My SP-01 and my Rami came from the factory with them but the P-01 my wife bought didn't. Is that normal to not have them or was it an option on the P-01? Seems odd to me. Also, what is involved in changing the sights on this pistol? I actually haven't looked closely at it yet. Thanks.
I purchased the Tru Dot Tritium Night Sights SET (#4 REAR) from CZC.
The P01 stock sights are the same height as the True Dot #4 (8.1mm) and a (5.5mm) front sight.
Therefore, you should only have to worry about windage adjustments to maintain factory POA/POI.

Installing the rear sight on the P01 will require a Sight Pusher for the most efficient removal and installation with the least likelihood of damage to the slide.
However, it is still very possible to damage the slide with a SP if you are not familiar with the tool and its proper operation. Unfortunately, a sight pusher is also a spendy $$ (as much as the sights) tool.
OR, a med to large vise securely mounted, a nylon tipped drift punch and a big ass hammer. Oh yes, and some big testicals! The rear site on my P01 was staked at the factory so removing it with a punch and hammer required more than I was willing to give. Hammering and I do mean HAMMERING away on a nearly $700 pistol was just too far out of my comfort zone. The front site is pretty easy...use a roll pin punch to remove the roll pin, use the nylon tipped drift punch to push the sight forward and out of the retaining slot. Fully insert the new front sight and drill through the roll pin hole with the appropriate sized bit. This is required to create a cavity in the bottom of the new sight for the roll pin to be reinserted. Note- when drilling the front sight, drill from the left side of the barrel toward the right. This insures that the rotation of the drill does not move the sight forward from its fully seated position in the slot.
In conclusion:
It's a great feeling to competently work on your own firearms but some thing's just aren't worth the aggravation and potential problems you can create for yourself. From my personal experience, removing and installing sights on the P01 happens to be one of those things. The potential risk of damaging the finish on the slide is a bit too high for the beginner IMO.
Therefore, I recommend spending $25 on a professional gunsmith who will have the experience and as importantly, the right tools for the job. If you do not have the tools mentioned then the gunsmith is cheaper too.
Cheers!
