Anyone else waiting anxiously on the new Grand Power imports?
« on: December 05, 2014, 01:58:49 PM »
I know there are a few other fans of these guns here, so maybe it's worth a heads-up:

http://www.grandpowerusa.com/

Eagle, importer of Bersa and MetroArms, is now handling Grand Power, with eight models approved for import. To the best of my knowledge, new Mk12 (which is the next generation after the Century-imported Mk7's and the STI Mk6's) models are already in-country but not yet in stock at any retailers.

I want an X-Calibur so bleep bad.

The P1 and P45 are defiantly interesting. I'd like to handle one and ideally run 50 or so rounds through one before I buy.

Just an FYI- best I can tell, the new GP's are are still in limbo SOMEWHERE in the US. Not yet at the distributors...if the distributors were showing stock, I'd be able to get a LGS to order an X-Calibur for me.

I feel like a kid waiting on the next Call of Duty game or something. I WANT IT NOW. :(

Ha ha, same here.  Really wanting the x-calibur, last week Took my GP and shot it side by side with 2 of my CZ pistols...and I must say for a $500 pistol up against my $1k plus czs accuracy results were pretty interesting :)

The current order hit the Eagle Imports warehouse Monday.
They are shipping out to the distributors now.

Some of these distributors are so large that there is a disconnect between sales and purchasing and it can be counter productive.  If any of the dealers you guys buy through are members of ?buying groups? (Sports Inc, NBS, Worldwide, or Mid-States), they can buy direct from Eagle Imports as well.  Most of the major dealers in the US are members of one of these buying groups.

In short, if you are looking at your local gun store, tell them to rattle the cages hard.

The distributors are clogged with other manufacturers stale product and are very reluctant to place large orders.
The more feedback they get from the local gun stores, the quicker they will realize that the product line is fast moving and going to make them money.

It's kind of a rotten time to try and launch a brand in the US, but we are in this for the long term.

Would love to get a P45 45ACP myself as long as it's comparable in price to the Sar Arms K2 45ACP ($500 or less).

P45 list appears to be $819, so I'm expecting a street price in the $600-700 range at best. The X-Cal is $999 and I'm planning on dropping $800-900. These are just best guesses, of course.

Ouch. That's kinda pricey. I know GP are good firearms but being new to the USA it may be a hard sell. Especially with the market now flooded with good quality, and less expensive, Turkish firearms.

My thoughts exactly, not only Turkish firearms but in general all polymer pistols.  Hopefully eagle imports realize this, and from that lowering the price.  But I will still pay for the x-calibur regardless.
Missed the boat last week when jgsales had them(1st gen) on sale for $399.   Last week had some time to shoot some of my 9s including my GP since I had in 2012, with my shadow and TS
All 5shot groups using AE 115gr fmj
7y shot with front bag

15y with front bag

25y...taped are 1st shots with front bag, then followed up with no rest shooting offhand

I think it will be waiting in line behind the SR1911 CMD and the CZ 97 BD then.
