CZ 75 Compact, weak primer stike Fixed, Range Report.
« on: December 08, 2014, 05:59:35 PM »
Lovin this gun.  I have owned it for 2 months now, when I got it I took it completely apart and polished every mating part.  Replaced:
Front sight
Guide rod to stainless steel with coil spring
Grips ( I made them from Buckeye Burl Wood)
Mainspring to 13.5#
Extended Firing Pin with reduced spring from CGW
Magazine bottom plate
Firing Pin Block spring from CGW

I think at this point I need a new rear sight to move the group higher.  This is at seven yards, off hand, 20 rounds of 124 grain and 20 rounds of 115 grain ammo.

Ok! you cought me. My bad, yes I did hang the target upside down.  Oh! By the way not one hangup, smooth as butter.

Hi ttkt57,  Full disclosure on the holster. I had 3 made at the same time for a Walther PPQ, PK380 and P22.  The one you see in the picture was for the PPQ but had the imprint of the PK380 on it. Wasn't happy about that.  Since I sold the PPQ I deceided to change the holster to fit the CZ.  I wet the holster and clamped the CZ in it and worked the leather to form to the CZ.  Great guy, quality of the workmanship was good, just the wrong outlines.  I should have done just one at a time.  Here is his site.   http://hoppcustomleather.com

Thanks RedState, Buckeye Burl is such a beautiful wood.  I had a darker piece that I was working with first, but my table saw sent it flying across the garage.  :-\  Glad wifie wasn't around or I wouldn't be able to look at a table saw.
With age comes wisdom, make sure she's not around.  :)

I have some Zebra wood laying around. I should try to make some grip panels for my 85b.

RedState, heck yes give it a try. I have a post that showed the steps I used to make mine.  The tools I used were: Table Saw, Jig Saw, Dremel Tool and Belt Sander.  As you can tell nothing fancy.  A router, router table and buffer would have made life easier.

Nice! Great shooting. How did you fix the weak primer strikes? I'm just curious..in case I experience some problems when I mod my P-01.

Hi BEE,  I fixed the weak primer strikes by replacing the Firing Pin to the longer one that is sold by CGW along with the associated FP spring.  The only reason I got the light strikes was because I replaced the Main Spring to the lighter 13# spring.  It is a real easy fix.
