DROS'ing a 97BD SSE just under the wire
« on: December 17, 2014, 08:31:30 PM »
Made the purposeful mistake of dropping by my LGS to checkout the CZ inventory.
To my great delight, I was able to start the 10day DROS on a SSE CZ97BD before the CA expiration of the exemption on 12/31/14.
I never thought I'd get the chance to own this model while stuck in Ca. for a few more years.
Looking forward to joining you good folks in the discussions of what I hope to be as fine a CZ as the 9mm versions I am so fond of.

Thanks for the support.

I've read over and over about the CZ fever these pistol carry but figured my immune system was strong... 3months latter...I'm out of control.
I went shopping for a  CZ SP01 in Oct, couldn't find one so I bought a P01, in November found the SP01 and had to buy it before it was gone again (or so said the voice in my head). Now the 97BD and I could not just walk away.
This is a serious problem.

^^ Indeed, just give in, for there is no point in fighting it. I stopped fighting 5 CZ's ago, now i just do what they tell me.

So then, you would agree that it's a sound idea to get on the horn to Dave and order up the PRO package equivalent for the 97 so it arrives just a bit before the BD paroles?
Because that's what the voice is saying now.

My 85B is peering at me from my desk, if i say no i am not sure what it will do........

So...yes, it sounds like a good plan of action.

On another note, now that you have a 97 coming, i may have to barrow it so i can duel wield CZ97's.  ;D

Aside from my 9mm Witness Match, I shoot the 97 better than any of my 1911's. I live in Orange and shoot at FieldTime quite a bit. Let me know if you want to try a 97 (with CGW SA trigger).

Is it just the decocker functionality that made it have to be SSE? As the 97B is on the CA DOJ "safe" handgun roster.

That is exactly right. Ridiculous, ignorant, legislators in this state. Can't wait for the day when I can move from Ca. to America.

Start thinking about your duel wield pose and get the Camera ready.
Just ordered the 97BD PRO Kit with the Ring hammer instead of Race. Should be here about Tues.

I've shot a few times at Field time in Stanton when shooting with coworkers, Nice indoor.  OC Indoor in Brea is closer to my home.

Thank you for the offer on shooting your SA CGW 97 that is very kind of you.
I'm too impatient just to shoot the 97 in stock form and wait for the someday to upgrade. I know all too well how the CGW PRO Kit transforms the CZ into a dream machine. I have Cajunized my P-01 and SP-01 and I'm smitten.
I just ordered the PRO Kit for the 97.
I'll send you a PM the next time I go to Field Time and see if there's a chance to meet up and shoot some CZ's.
