I am new to CZ's but have been thinking about getting an SP-01.  I have a few questions I was hoping the good people of this board could help me with them.  Many thanks in advance!

1) Does anyone have first-hand experience comparing the 9mm Sig P226ST and the SP-01?  I have been shooting a Sig 226ST in IPSC Prodution and have been very happy with it.  However, having been thinking about getting a CZ, and looking at the SP-01 in particular, I was wondering how these two compare.  It looks to me that the SP-01 has a lower bore axis and consequently may shoot a little flatter allowing for faster follow-up shots.  Anyone find this to be or not be the case?  Mind you, the 226ST is about the same weight as the SP-01 and is a soft shooting 9mm when loaded for minor, so I am not specifically criticizing the Sig, just wondering if there is a slight design edge to the CZ in this regard.

2) Is the SP-01 Shadow available and legal for USPSA Production?  If I wanted to order one, do I simply contact Angus Hobdell directly as per the CZ website?

3) In skimming a few CZ gunsmithing posts, I saw mention that the sears on CZ-75s are a lilttle soft.  Is this the same case for the SP-01?  Are there any other or similar things about the SP-01 that should be addressed in a typical competition set-up?  What about trigger reset and over-travel on the SP-01 Shadow?

Thanks again for any help.

P.S.  I tried posting this earlier and it seemed to get lost in my browser.  Please excuse me if this ends up being a duplicate post.

Q1. I have some experienced with 226ST and greater experience with my SP01 (about 5000rds).

The 226ST was NIB and the DA pull wasnt all that diffrent from my CZ. Sigs SA was better, but my SP01 was at par as soon as the triggerjob was done.

But the SA is very diffrent. Sig in my hands feels as it breaks easy but it got a rubber-feeling to it, I cant really tell when its going to break. My CZ is much harder in the SA but breaks very clean and crisp (I havent changed any springs).

The greatest feature about the SP01 for me is that it doesnt feel as Im holding on to the gun as much as it feels as it sits inside my palm. It rides really low with such a low boreaxis and a good beavertail and the grip is very slim for a double stack.

That is the Sigs worst feature, it feels as if the gun rides 3" above my hand.

A buddy of mine shoots the Sig226SST..

from my impression..

the SP01 sits better in my hand. Lower bore access. I thought the triggers were about the same..both guns have been worked on as far as the actions are concerned..I thought mine broke a little crisper and it is what I like..

the SST I thought was a heavier too..would just have to get used to it..

Thanks for the impressions.  The more I look into things, the more excited I am about getting an SP-01.  Looks very sweet.
